No. JJ was always a putz.
It’s the other posters that kept many of us coming back. The last two years or so I never even read JJ’s blogs...just skipped right to the commentary.
He really only had like 3 blogs ever anyway. Just kept repackaging the same handful of talking points ad naseum. Wash, rinse, repeat. - Ogilthorpe2
I agree with you 100% about JJ. If you were one of his boys... He gave you respect. If you were on the other side of the fence and a fringe contributor.. He would ignore you.

I get the frustration. He's not a complete player (yet) but he's at a critical juncture in terms of contract.
Saad is a huge ? |

Debrincats career production is now 32 goals per 82 game pace
Hes also a criminally underrated playmaker. He isnt just sitting there waiting for passes with his stick on the ice. Kid sees the ice extremely well also |

This isnt isolated to the ADB discussion. As JP, Breadman, Ogi, etc mentioned above, this was a common issue with him, which was unfortunate as the primary blogger in his tenure here. If you disagreed with him, there were only two routes: 1. you're wrong and he knows better/is more connected than everyone 2. he'll ban you
At least Justin allows for healthy debate and respects people.
JJ was always on his high horse about signing Hossa, hockey workouts/training regimes, ADB, trading Crawford for Craig Anderson or Steve Mason, trading Kane for RIck Nash after their two lull seasons after the first cup win, the Hawks trading up for the first overall pick when Florida had it and took ekblad, etc. - Stan_Bowman

Too small, his game will never transition to the NHL. The NHL is a man's league and ADB is a pint sized Jr. Player.

I think it's time to sit both Saad,Rutta.I like most people are totally confused with man child. What has happened to him?Do the Hawks really want to pay 6million bucks for a defensive forward .Everybody complains about Kruger, and what he makes. |

Heard it’s only a phone conference, looked like a WWE take down. No penalty on the play SMH.

For sure. Justin allows for healthy debate vs. the JJ mantra of "I don't ban people"...which was odd because seemingly the only people being banned were those who weren't in lock step with his line of thinking.
The one thing I can thank JJ for is this place turned me on to this online community, but his condescension and ire toward anyone who wasn't in his cirle was pretty lame all things considered. So, thanks Justin for allowing grown up talk and mostly civil disagreement on the site. Cheers! |

Stick between the legs, hike the man up, and body slam. Simply disgusting. Not in the world of hockey, WWE, but not hockey. I hope it's a long time suspension and a big fine. We know all to well what it is like having an all-star on the team with a target on his back. Sloppy nuts everywhere with the intent to injure because they have no skill and no chance to win. It's FLA for goodness sake, they already don't have a chance to win.
Thanks for posting the video. I already saw a body slam in the bears game that infuriated me, besides the outcome. |

Yes he does. But I think his comment is more geared toward those who would have had the Hawks 0-5 at this point and gladly so. |

The make up calls are what drive me nuts. Who says both teams should have equal (or nearly so) PP opportunities? If one team is carrying the play, and dominating possession, it stands to reason that the team playing from behind and constantly chasing the puck is more likely to commit infractions. Yet you rarely see a huge split in PP’s at the end of a game.
The other one that chaps my ass is the whole “let them play” mantra that is the standard late in games and in the playoffs. A penalty is a penalty. It shouldn’t matter if it’s the first period of the pre season, or OT in game 7 of the cup final. Call the rule book always. - Ogilthorpe2

I know: long spaces in between games, Stl blue waffles 4 times in nearly 4 weeks, and then there are days with absolutely no hockey. Way to go 18/19 season!! |

Ha...who would've thought. Not you per se but the tone of the board would've seemed to welcome long gaps between games. |

Jeebus! That should be half a season. Totally unnecessary. I’m all for hard hits, as long as they are within the flow of the game and with the intent to get the puck back. |

....Hey ... working with spreadsheeets can be really really hard. :D Have some empathy... (J/K) ---although I did hear that once with scheduling a 5 team league and they managed to have multiple games where officials scheduled to work games were actually players on the teams playing (as if no one could work it out) ... reminded me of that.
Ok seriously ... agreed ... what the ... NHL
