Sheary looks like the winner of the LW spot and I for sure thought it was going to be Skinner. Depending on the season Nylander has, he may end up a placeholder and get traded at the deadline.

The bottom 9 already struggles to score. Stacking the top line with their 3 best forwards in Skinner, Eichel, and Reinhart would just make things worse. Skinner with Mittelstadt is balanced much better, and the fact that Casey is playing good defense makes it possible.

That's the downside of not being 6'4". He never saw Hightower.

Edit: He's taller than I thought, that O-Line is massive. Still never saw Hightower though.

Every six months or so I forget exactly how bad McDonalds is, and in a rush, I say “It really can’t be as bad as I’m thinking I’ll just grab something quick.” It’s rational, but wrong

just a couple of random Monday Morning thoughts....

1. Yes Olofsson is putting up points..but hes also -3. Lets make sure hes not a nightmare in our end before putting him out there. And does he skate at an NHL quality level? Ive seen enough slow guys.

2. I have a friend who met McDermott and had a pretty lengthy conversation with him (business related). The thing they said to me was "hes way too much of a holy roller to ever coach a winning team". Take a look at Petermans twitter account. Ill bet my LIFE the "jesus thing" is why he keeps him around . And probably why guys like Sammy, Dareus and others were shown the door. Id LOVE to know if that Christian thing is a thing in that organization these days. Example: the way Hard Knocks has coached and players just throwing around F bombs and being "old school men"...Id love to know if that is forbidden or allowed. I honestly think THAT is a bigger problem than people think

I don't think there are enough "holy rollers" in the league to field an NFL team, so there's that. I do think, though, that the emphasis on "character" will hold this team back.

Im all for it if your hypothesis works out. Im just not into putting the cart before the horse. Skinner will most likely work out. But lets pay him towards the end of the year vs. what we think he might do on this team. Again, i want nothing more than more scoring on this team. I just want to see it before we open up the checkbook. Nylander/Berglund/? May be a formidable 3rd line in the future if we keep Sheary and Skinner.
