Again, if he’s out for 7-10 days then what’s the harm in leaving him with a team doctor in Florida for a couple of days just in case?
What’s there to gain by having him fly with the team the next day if he can’t play?
Demko’s symptoms worsened after flying despite getting cleared.
Professional doctors let Crosby play the next game where he got hit by Hedman along the boards after suffering a concussion against the Capitals the previous game. - Nucker101
There's nothing wrong with leaving him there – I think they probably should have been cautious and done that. However, if he has really minor symptoms, no swelling, and is basically fine and they're just holding him out of the lineup as a caution, why is everyone getting their panties in a knot?
Basically, we're not doctors, we have no idea what his symptoms actually are, and we're all following the media's hype/"information" on this.
Concussions are difficult, especially since some people get over them fine, others suffer horribly, some take days for symptoms to come on... it's tricky and super case-by-case. |

Never be able to take the childish stuff out. I'm sure you know 30 plus years olds that act like they are 15 still. - manvanfan
Can't disagree with that.
Just watching EP40 play, I'm convinced he's a generational talent....maybe not quite McDavidesque but not far off. HE NEEDS THE SUPPORT OF THE LEAGUE! His team very least.
JB needs to recognize this. If teams are allowed to take liberties like this past weekend, then my man JB needs to go.... |

Exactly my point. Some people feel fine for a day and then start feeling the symptoms later.
It’s still a grey area and should be treated as such. It’s unfair to expect doctors to be 100% correct when there’s new data/research still being done on the subject. |

Answer me one question and I’ll drop this. What’s the benefit of flying him with the team instead of being extra cautious if he’s not playing anyway?
I see more downside than upside. - Nucker101
What is a 19 year old going to do in Florida for a few days solo? Play fornight that’s what. Kid is already addicted as is |

Sorry, I edited my post after. Anyways, I think if the league is serious about having a higher skilled with less fighting then the league does need to protect and police the cheap crap. Players will start to think twice about it if they are being suspended and hurting their teams.
Not to quote iMac since Nucker is so mad at him. But an eye for an eye just leaves everyone blind. |

A reporter in the summer was saying he's a very selfish player and unless you play him with better players he's only out there for himself. - manvanfan
i remember reading the same report and i was taken aback. also, i think it was also a member of the hawks front office who confirmed the opinion (anonymously of course.) |

I’d imagine it’s a minor headache and he felt fine the next day. Perhaps part of it was being winded and a bit of whip lash. Good news for us if so |

Not mad at IMac, he’s doing what he has to stay employed. I just dislike shills who are afraid to think freely. If anything, I feel bad for him for not being able to speak his mind. |

Probably the case. He's most likely fine but the Nucks will play it up a bit for the league so they look at suspending Matheson a bit harder. If they announce today that EP is ok and playing in PIT then basically the league says 'no big deal' and Matheson walks with a slap on the wrist. Chess games. |

Goldobin takes Petterssons spot on top PP unit.
It also looks like Boeser is playing the point on both PP units

Make the suspensions VERY heavy. I dont care if there is no history.
Suspend Matheson 10 games for that play and that poop stops there and then. 2nd offense, 25 games.
Tried of the cheap bullpoop. A late hit is one thing but bodyslamming a guy away from the play because he made you look bad deserves the book....

The right move(Goldy)
2nd unit still sucks unless EP gets double shifted when he’s back(he should). |

IMac isn't a reporter, he's PR.
but you can't blame the guy. he is a "newspaper reporter," who is probably in his 50s. after cuts in that industry, and being let go by the Sun, he's doing whatever he can to keep going until retirement.
he's a jukebox now. put in the money and pick the tune. |

.@patersonjeff: This is a massive issue going forward. Five games into his NHL career. You don't think that other teams see that there was no response, and there was no response last year to the Boeser/Lewis? If you're Boeser, sitting on the bench, what are you thinking? |

The fact that Jpat is now urging it on literally means it's a non story anymore and he's just stirring poop up. No one has taken another liberty at Boeser. |

Elias Pettersson (concussion) remains with VAN on their road trip (PIT Tues and WPG Thursday) but will not be seeing any game action for a minimum of seven to 10 days and perhaps longer depending on his recovery from symptoms.

So they have EP flying with the team despite concussion symptoms?
They can’t be this stupid. - Nucker101
You know it, I know it, we all know it, yes, they are that stupid. |
