Special Guest tomorrow morning on Sportsnet 650 Starting Lineup as Trevor Linden joins us live in studio at 6am.

This is a huge coincidence. Today I took my granddaughter swimming in Port Moody and then took her to McDonalds after swimming. As I was sitting there I looked up and noticed the name Club 16 Trevor Linden

Now he will be on tomorrow at 630 what are the chances?

Maybe he will call Jim a liar too?

- VANTEL

I think he has a new thing going on. I was watching a bit of the Seahawks game today and in the commercial break the CTV woman said Linden would be in the morning show tomorrow to talk about his new thing.

I think he has enough integrity to forego talking poop about the Canucks in any way. I doubt we ever hear his side of the story, at least directly from him.

No, he did not.

I was going to say Utica is leading the league by far in PIM. I see they have two misconducts though.

Since when has Cam Robinson become the Canuck guy? #Canucks Senior Writer/Scout

Cam Robinson
Olli Juolevi is looking good in Utica thus far. Quite good.

I’d still keep him away from that tragic #Canucks backend for another month or two though. Let the confidence build up.

I’ve been pretty much living at the office for the last week, just caught last night’s game on PVR after avoiding any possible spoilers.

What the fck?

How could no one step up? Literally four games ago the talking point was how Hamonic stood up for his rookie teammate after a marginal hit. Dube is no where near as important to his team as Pettersson is, the hit wasn’t nearly as bad as Matheson’s throw down, Dube wasn’t injured and yet Hamonic threw down with a big dude and no one on the Canucks could be bothered.

It drives me crazy.

Horvat scored, great, but if he wants to be Captain then he needs to lead this team, not just be another roster player that looks away when a teammate gets roughed up. Roussel just came back from a concussion, so he gets a pass, I guess, but at least through a hit or something. As for the rest of the players who were either brought in or kept around to keep other teams “honest”, well done - you’ve just told the entire league that any player on the Canucks is fair game.

I haven’t back read, but I assume there’s a lot of calls for revenge when the teams play again, but that’s ridiculous. No one is going to think twice about running a Canuck because they might be mad next game and talk about retribution. The hit was in the moment and the response needs to happen in that same moment.

I just read that Matheson has a hearing with the league. Take heart Pettersson, the league has your back, but the Canucks don’t.

Sorry for the long, ranty post. I haven’t cracked the wine yet, but I’m well into the whine.

I understand exactly....it's amazing how things get twisted into something else or completely misread entirely.

it's not even worth arguing the point, they won't get it or choose not to

then there's the posters who cant even read

100% and as to the comment on you back reading, that's also accurate. We've all been in disbelief about it. Not even a body check or a face wash. Should have been something, there's a lot of ways they could have showed some mettle and didn't. Opportunity loss in the respect of forming a new identity

there should have been at least a roughing penalty on the play.

even if guys didn't want to fight, get in a scrum. they could have made an effort to play more physical and finish some checks.

so many guys on the bubble, none of them step up, nuts.

just saw this email from Canucks,

I was expecting the kid gets a concussion and a free trip to Utica.

So true, just go to EKs blog and it's more than a match for ignorance itself.

Or blame the coaching staff for asking the players to let it ride for the win instead of making him pay. Worst coaching staff ever.

Cap Range For Next Season: The preliminary range for the Upper Limit of the salary cap for next season is now available and it runs from $81.4MM to $85.4MM depending on how much of the annual inflator the NHLPA chooses to use. In the past, the inflator was used at the maximum five percent but in recent years, it has been reduced in order to try to limit escrow. Even at the low end, that would still represent a jump of nearly $2MM on the current Upper Limit and with a few teams projected to be capped out, every little bit will count.

If there is an upcoming expansion in Seattle it would be good to keep it lower so more teams get into a crunch and Seattle can do the same as Vegas. Gather picks for bad contracts.

Canucks should pick up a goalie and a D next year utilizing about 14-16 mil for the next 4 years.

The good thing is I doubt Brock will get 7 mil per as suggested in the summer.
