If they could get him for Shaw + DLR...I'd be really happy. - BashCH
God knows I'm not a fan of Shaw and his contract.
But for what it's worth, he's looked pretty effective out there this year. |

They don't have anything of value to trade for that. But they have alot more playmakers than snipers, they could-use a Ryder-lite on that third line. - MortChicken

They do have assets to acquire guys like that, not established snipers but guys with the potential to be... That's what a rebuild is, no? |

So if he's not a bottom 6 who does he bump out? Gallagher, Drouin, Tatar, Domi, Danault, Byron, Lehkonen? Or take more ice time away from Kotkaniemi?
Armia has 60 points in 185 career games while Anderson has 66 in 163... That's pretty similar - obie
Again, it’s not happening. I just said i would do the swap between those because Anderson has a better scoring touch and is more of a park in front of the net player. Right now the team is playing much better than expected so i would just leave it as it is. Well, as long as they are scoring by committee... |

I know we have a tradition going on of overpaid grinders but maybe someone who makes less than 7 millions per year |

Fair enough and I think I would too, one for one straight up... But it's still a bit of a sideways move... They should trade for Denis "the menace" Gurianov instead |

Petry has value, their cap space is valuable... And although I'm gonna take a beating for this, I'd move Danault for the right player...even Byron & Tatar! Forgive me but I'm still in full rebuild mode even after the good start! |

I would never move Byron though, he is just the perfect player on a cap friendly contract. I know your take on Tatar but he is been very good since joining the CH, Bergy won’t trade him as he makes him look good even with Suzuki in the juniors. |

I hear ya on Byron, I wouldn't wanna trade him either but if a team is willing to part with a good young D for him, he'd be packing his bags...
Tatar could and should be flipped at the TD next season at the very latest, with Vegas holding on to 10% of his salary, Habs could keep another 10% when trading him, which would make him real attractive to a team looking for scoring punch on a good contract |

Best thing that could happen to them would be that Tatar keeps this up and has a carreer year so you can trade him at the deadline. |

I know but if they fall off by mid season, which is not only possible but it's probable... These questions will come up and veteran players will be moved out, with youth being the target in any potential return |

I think when the dust settles and players start rounding out into form, Habs will finish in the bottom 10 still... You don't agree? |

I'm honestly not sure. They played the Leafs quite well, and they beat the Pens twice, once in very convincing fashion on the road. The loss was a total egg, and that happens. |
