I'm honestly not sure. They played the Leafs quite well, and they beat the Pens twice, once in very convincing fashion on the road. The loss was a total egg, and that happens. - hscesq
They do look real good, it's hard to say... |

And I get that they're young and a small set back can turn into a huge downfall. But I think they have the ability to be competitive if they stay healthy and keep working hard. |

They usually start slumping around the holidays with the first trip out west agaisnt the bigger physical teams. But looked at the schedule and they don't have that big trip to play ANA SJ LA.. |

And Weber is skating well for a guy scheduled to return in December.

This is a completely different team. What they did in the past, isn't relevant in all facets. Doesn't mean there won't be a swoon, or worse. I just think that with the different makeup of the team, the response may be different. |

Jacob De La Rose is not on the ice for practice this morning. Could he be on waivers in 30 minutes? Trade? |

Yes, he will be a huge help, whenever he returns. One of the biggest reasons, is that your favorite DMan can return to being a #3. |

He will fetch a huge return. Maybe we can get two chickens and a pig. |

The way I see it has them in a decent position, as in they desperately need a D in the upcoming draft, which is top heavy with F and as nice as a top pick would be, they can make a push this year and even if they fail, they can get that D with a pick in the teens |

Anybody follow Peter Gammons on Twitter? Highly respected baseball journalist for many years. Had a stroke a few years back and is said to have recovered almost fully. But if you read his tweets...I think he's lost his mind. |

They need both, I think. But they do need a D more for sure. |

It may, but agaisnt LA it seemed like a bigger team can still box them out pretty effectively. |

They have to draft thinking that Kotkaniemi, Suzuki and Poehling will fix the problem down the middle... They need to replenish the void left by Sergachev |

LA dominated them physically for sure. I suspect several of them were nervous for the home opener, and they played like they were. Not an excuse for them, but something that happens to a young team on occasion. |
