Isn't Nylander available in Toronto? Ship Anisimov and Rutta or Gustafsson and a 3rd rounder for a top six forward? Toronto gets D "help" and we get a great young top 6 player. - Flying Puck
It would take more than that. Maybe Schmaltz + Rutta (plus the rights to Lalonde) for Nylander + Brown. |

Thank you. I always appreciate your breakdowns, score recaps, and synopses. At least Hillman and Gilbert are getting playtime, good or bad. I expect big things from that pair. Would love for our bottom 6 to get boosted. - I Am The Breadman
Thanks. Yes, it was great to see Hillman and Gilbert play. Both were fine overall. Just need consistency but that should come with experience at the pro level.
Gilbert could stand to use his size more. He was physical at Notre Dame but not as much so far in Rockford. Sometimes he tries to be a finesse puck mover and ends up getting stopped at the Hogs offensive blue line or shortly after. Keep it simple and play within your means. |

He looked awesome in the prospect camp and rookie tourney. Another goaltender to look forward to. Thanks for the post. |

"I feel good," said Keith, who will be 35 in July. "I know my age. I know I'm not getting any younger. But at the same time, I don't feel old. I know that I have a lot left in the tank." (Source: Daily Herald - April 2018)
Duncan Keith, fresh off his 1,000 regular season game looks to be better than last year already. He won't ever be Norris-winning Keith, but he's been solid partnered with 19-year old Henri Jokiharju.
A graphic the other night showed he has logged 28,000 minutes = 466 games...holy poop.
Alot of those minutes were hard big game and playoff minutes. Remarkable what he achieved and being a small guy with all the abuse he has taken. He is truly a one of a kind special athlete.
Congrats to him that 1000 game celebration was well done and well deserved. |

It might be tough for younger guys to see the nhl change around them and be filled with skillful finese players. They might try to emulate that behavior/game, and end up left in the dust. |

How about that number 11 they got? He stole my identity! I wouldn't mind being able to say I play for the blackhawks. |

28,766 minutes in 1,126 total games - regular season and post-season - = 25.5 minutes / game.
For the regular season: 25,214 in 1,000 games = 25.2 / game
For the playoffs: 3,552 in 126 games = 28.2 / game
Not just a lot of minutes - but a lot of minutes per game. Good that he's a workout and conditioning fanatic.

He's been good too, I would be ok swapping him out with Brown in my proposal. |

Most of the playoff games we played went into overtime, even all the way to triple overtime. That is just insane to think about that this was regular and to be expected every year in a row. |

I'm pretty sure one of the women on the left of the big DK sign was Keith's ex-wife (not sure who the other woman was nor who the men were) while the women on the right of the sign was his current GF and mom.
How awesome of a memory was that for Colton to be surrounded by 3 of the top 100 NHL players of all time? It was cool to see Toews give the boy a playful tap on the shoulder several times, maybe to reassure him in what may have been a nerve-racking time for him (being in front of the entire UC crowd, not being next to his mom while also being with his dad).
Btw, whoever designed the DK logo did an excellent job. Loved how 1,000 is integrated into his initials. |

First, Nylander isn't great, he has potential. Potential and a $1.53 gets me a small coffee.
Second, the Leafs aren't going to take a bunch of Hawk retreads, never have beens and never will be's, they'll want at the very least a top end prospect or two or a young roster player in return.
Third, allegedly Nylander wants $8M a season. If the hawks give him that that how will they afford ADB and Schmaltz who may be better players?
The Hawks don't want Nylander for the same reason the Leafs are reluctant to pay him what he's demanding.

He needs a kick in the A S S, a game or two in the pressbox is about the biggest foot they have to kick him.

He has no mojo right now. I will say, I have never been a big fan of Saad. i always thought he was force fed down our throats since he was brought up. On top of that, he was thrown on the top line with Toews and Hossa right out of the gate and rode the coat tails while he figured out the game. My issue with him is the consistency, is he a physical asset every night with his great skating ability and size? Or is he a passenger in a mediocre line up? He needs to understand what was sent the other way for him and he needs to elevate his game to game output.
My major concern with him is that his relationship with Q is tarnished. If that is the case, a trade is needed. He still has value in the league and could certainly be used to fill a couple holes. |
