I'm pretty sure one of the women on the left of the big DK sign was Keith's ex-wife (not sure who the other woman was nor who the men were) while the women on the right of the sign was his current GF and mom.
How awesome of a memory was that for Colton to be surrounded by 3 of the top 100 NHL players of all time? It was cool to see Toews give the boy a playful tap on the shoulder several times, maybe to reassure him in what may have been a nerve-racking time for him (being in front of the entire UC crowd, not being next to his mom while also being with his dad).
Btw, whoever designed the DK logo did an excellent job. Loved how 1,000 is integrated into his initials. - AEL_Fox
His sister and brother and families were there.

First, Nylander isn't great, he has potential. Potential and a $1.53 gets me a small coffee.
Second, the Leafs aren't going to take a bunch of Hawk retreads, never have beens and never will be's, they'll want at the very least a top end prospect or two or a young roster player in return.
Third, allegedly Nylander wants $8M a season. If the hawks give him that that how will they afford ADB and Schmaltz who may be better players?
The Hawks don't want Nylander for the same reason the Leafs are reluctant to pay him what he's demanding. - paulr
His opportunity is depreciating by the game. He is leveraging that the team needs him but the team is scoring at a ridiculous pace and needs more defensive forwards than anything. On top of that, his linemate is torching the league without him lol. He will be lucky to get 6 mil if he continues to hold out. |

Just like Baskin Robins, 31. Part of Dunkin Donuts, Chicago runs on Duncan. Also, Q's part-time job.

He needs a kick in the A S S, a game or two in the pressbox is about the biggest foot they have to kick him. - TheTrob
I don't think a kick in the ass fixes bad puck luck. |

He has no mojo right now. I will say, I have never been a big fan of Saad. i always thought he was force fed down our throats since he was brought up. On top of that, he was thrown on the top line with Toews and Hossa right out of the gate and rode the coat tails while he figured out the game. My issue with him is the consistency, is he a physical asset every night with his great skating ability and size? Or is he a passenger in a mediocre line up? He needs to understand what was sent the other way for him and he needs to elevate his game to game output.
My major concern with him is that his relationship with Q is tarnished. If that is the case, a trade is needed. He still has value in the league and could certainly be used to fill a couple holes. - nickmo2699
I know his stock is low, but if he has a problem with Q or vice versa, then he needs to go. Preferably out of the west. |

At what point is it no longer bad puck luck. Sure there were plenty of times last year that you could say, thats a tough bounce or a great save, but as time goes on and things don't change the bad puck luck excuse doesn't hold. Was the missed opportunity on the breakaway bad puck luck? I think there are too many times that Saad is just unnoticeable. Is he sulking?, is it the quality of the linemates he is playing with? what is his excuse? At this point he has 9 shots, as your supposed power forward he needs to generate more. |

they did not introduce his family:
i suspect on the right was his mother, girlfriend and son
on the left his sister and brother with their spouses and children |

I get what you are saying. He has had just as many near misses as his lack of efforts. Thats what makes him hard to guage. Bouncing him all around isn't helping either. Plus, I always thought he was a douche. He had that vibe to him. |

That makes more sense that the left side were his siblings. His divorce was pretty bitter so I just couldn't see his ex-wife wanting to be in such a big spotlight. |

Sikura needs to get on that 3rd line.
While I don't mind Johnson playing on the 4th line, Kruger needs to stay at center. |

Justin's blog had a stat about Kruger starting 95% of D zone draws (something like that). Gotta think that is a factor of Kruger playing center and taking draws, not being a winger. |

Negotiations are ongoing but the two sides are reportedly not close. Kypreos said he was told there is a four-year contract offer on the table that is “well under $20 million in total” and that Nylander’s proposed salary cap hit would be closer to $4 million as opposed to north of $5 million annually.
Elliotte Friedman speculated that two relatively recent bridge contracts that could be comparable to what Nylander might get are the three-year, $14.3-million ($4.76 million AAV) deal Nikita Kucherov signed with the Lightning in 2016 and the two-year, $12-million deal ($6 million AAV) Blue Jackets star Artemi Panarin inked when he was still with the Blackhawks.

Hawks can do a bridge deal, do they have the right assets in return |

Ditto. While some of Stan's moves can be questioned, despised, whatever, to me, this whole thing going off the rails was more a product of Toews not looking like Toews the last few seasons.
I always found it hard to believe that he was essentially done or now merely a decent player where he was great before...and he was great. Never bought the idea that he was merely a prodcut or beneficiary of being Hossa's center. I mean sure he was to some extent but that went the other way too and why they were so great together. - HawkintheD
Even with Toews struggling, it was more CC than anyone else, you lose a top 5 goalie, season over they knew that, reason why they signed Ward, not great but has made some really good saves not to lose a game in regulation |

Let's see. The Hawks have no wins in regulation. All but 4 of their goals scored by forwards have been scored by Kane, Toews and Cat. Their PP and PK are awful. Ward has a plus 4 GAA and a sub .900 save percentage. Not too much to be excited about.
Oh wait.... they have 8 out of 10 points in the first 5 games and 3 of the 5 games were on the road.
I would attribute the crazy numbers to a small sample size.
We will know better after 15 to 20 game, Crow's return (or not), Forsling's return, and Murphy's return.
I am on the fence and could easily be swayed either way. Hopefully they keep it interesting.

No trade required; what's required is better play and contribution to the team effort by the player.
This isn't the National Coddling League. The new Ranger coach sat Shattenkirk on his ass one game last week. Julien is scratching Karl Alzner every night and Plekanec is going to have press box splinters right after he plays his 1000th game. |

Speaking of...if Crow comes back this week, will be interesting to see what they do with Forsberg.
I'm kind of surprised Q hasn't played Davidson yet. Didn't see a lot of preseason games but by most reports he looked pretty good. - HawkintheD
I asked this before. Can waivers be revocable as they can be in baseball. Could they put Forsberg on waivers and then recall him if there is a claim.
Could he be loaned to a Swedish Team and still retain his rights |

Saad keeps climbing down the ladder... - glennjpawlak22
I would characterizing what he’s doing as falling off the ladder. Climbing entails skill and effort, which he has been short of this year. |

I can't answer the question, but I'll ask one, Does it really matter? I may be wrong but i see Delia as the Hawks future goalie, athletic kid moves really well, he looks promising.

There’s a couple of YouTube videos about corporate logos with hidden stuff in them. Don’t have the link but found the videos interesting. Company’s spend a fortune getting the logos designed for their needs and many have the hidden meanings. Amazon has the “smile” connecting A to Z to emphasize their extensive product line. |
