Wow lol

I kinda agree with him. Rudy fits in well, has decent speed and first pass...AND...last but not least, costs almost 3 mill less a year.

Jesus Johnson has played just fine and you guys have to find a scapegoat? Let the guy play. He's been good on the PK as well. Physical and can skate.

The person I'm playing this week has an almost identical lineup to mine. Out of 20 players, only nine are different.

Im not finding a scapegoat nor blaming anything on JJ and I agree he's been fine. In fact, he's been one of the better defenders so far. I just think Rudy could be equally fine for a lot less cap hit. Thats all.

The issue here is not that Johnson has played bad. It's how the Pens chose to spend their money and other choices could have been made.

Ruhwedel is a fine #6 dman who in all reality is as serviceable as JJ for 1/4 the price.

The Pens could have signed DeHaan who's four years younger, MUCH better than JJ for $1M more and a year less in term. The Pens however chose to have tunnel vision and zoom in on JJ.

They went after Johnson like he was the last dman on the market and everyone was going to bum rush him, when in reality they were one of two teams who wanted him and the Pens already had someone as capable for $600K.

I hope the boys don't think this is another roll over team. Even without Pettersson.
Hopefully DeSmith fares better than MM against Boeser.

Well, my 8-month-old son is dressing up as a pumpkin, so it's not too far off.

Reading Yohe's recent mailbag I don't think Sprong is long for this team. Seems like Sprong was playing to the best of his ability up until the Gallagher goal and got yanked immediately as soon as he made that one mistake. If one mistake is gonna get you the axe on a night to night basis, the coaching staff already has their mind made up and there's no real room to sink or swim on your own accord. We should really trade Sprong if Sullivan is done with him.

That whole line got sat if I'm not mistaken. But I do think you're right. If they're not gonna allow the kid to grow and learn then best to trade him. He was flying in the first on the fore and backchecks.

People always say that the Pens are a run and gun team that will never be great defensively. Why doesn't the Head coach realize this? More guns should be better for the team. I feel bad for the kid. You can tell he's trying.

Brutal. I mentioned in a few blogs ago that it's ridiculous how much more slack the leashes of the vets are, whom some of which have played worse than Sprong.

I think Cullen should sit. Brass is back at LW on Sid's line. The coaching staff seems to contradict themselves with these lineup changes.

I'm just saying, I don't care if they're making out on the bench and having full-blown orgies in the locker room as long as they're winning.

I don’t believe he’s a scapegoat and I’m not blaming him for the Pens early season struggles. I just said going into the season I would have preferred Ruhwedel to Johnson because JJs money could have been spent better.
