Wouldn't call it a blessing no matter the outcome, but I do think that given the cap space and number of picks, we should be okay. Really underwhelmed by Allen after a decent first start, all down hill.

I think with more study,
he can better comprehend what he’s seeing on the field
That should hopefully lead to him knowing where to throw the ball ON TIME
Which has clearly been a struggle so far

Peterman's touchdown is a throw Allen just can't (hasn't) made. Any time hes tried a touch pass like that it ends up 4 feet into the sidelines.

Allen’s injury could be a blessing in disguise
Now we have an excuse to let him sit & learn

Hopefully he can get back at some point and show some progress by the end of the season

Lots of picks & Cap Room to help out the offense around him for next year

And McD should be getting credit for what he’s done with this defense

Really don't mind if you sit this one out
My word's but a whisper your deafness a shout
I may make you feel but I can't make you think

And your wise men don't know how it feels

I'd argue that any QB, if they are constantly on the run as he is, is going to have issues seeing the field.

His QB rating outside the pocket was like 2.7. Next lowest was like 50. Hes the worst QB playing right now and the offensive line gets unfairly blamed for it.

Look at the stuff Joe B is posting on twitter right now. He ditches clean pockets before the receivers even have a chance to run their routes.

2:45 in.

Obviously not a touchdown, wr couldn't stay in, but a very similar pass that needed to be high and away.

It isn't that he can't make throws, it's that he doesn't as consistently as he should. I get the gripe, but I think you took it too far here.

Well Shohei Otani is getting Tommy John's, so he's not pitching next year, but he's still gonna play DH, soooooo, Allen to TE?

Peterman completes to Allen

Or management could have brought in someone who could play the position and could have had him sit and avoid all of this in the first place.

Fair enough. The rest of the games have been so historically bad that I forgot how impressive he was against the Vikings.

Yea, I have faith he can learn to sit in the pocket and make better reads, but his accuracy is just going to be his downfall no matter how much better he gets in the pocket.

Just cant believe we mortgaged our future in the guy who was not even good at Wyoming

- robz228

I literally told all my friends,
“Anyone but Allen”

But u can see his talent
His accuracy issues... IMO... come in part from having to rush throws last second bc he has trouble figuring out where to throw the ball
He then has to force it at times, instead of hitting the WR when he’s supposed to

I don’t think he’ll ever be Brees or Brady accurate, but i can see him improving to the point where he could be a good QB

Obviously has a ways to go though

It's a fair take. I just don't think him getting ousted now due to injury is going to maximize his development.

We're stuck with him right now either way. I'm hoping no surgery is necessary and is just a few week thing.

The Bills Homer in me says he's got the mobility to overcome some of his shortcomings. The "EJ Manuel" throws into RBs feet are infuriating and he hasn't gotten it lined up on the deep ball yet. However, he has made some very nice throws at times, ones that no other QB we've had in 20 years could make.

We knew he needed to get coached up. We've done the opposite. I think the organization and he share the blame, isn't his solely. I don't think it's THAT bad either. Just could be.

Apparently not ALL of us realize that very simple fact

I never wanted Allen,
but it’s WAY too early to throw in the towel

Agreed
That would’ve been ideal

A certain former Bills QB would’ve been ideal imo
Hint: he’s got a great name!
Hahaha

What would this team look like right now if Tyrod wasn't traded and we just drafted?

Not arguing he's been great by any means, simply that he does have it in him. Whether it can be unearthed again is a horse of a different pasture entirely.

Maybe a playoff contender
But still in desperate need of a “Franchise QB”

Yeah, and thats where I hate the word consistency. You can't "be good more consistently" - being consistent is part of just actually being good.

We drafted the wrong Josh
But I’m not giving up yet on Allen
This break will hopefully be good for him

Right, because Rosen has been killing it, JFC dude, seriously.

I love how Allen was "the guy that needs time", and 5 weeks into his career, "he sucks, (frank) him, let's draft another QB in the first round".

Everyone was making the "he needs time" point. The book on him was "amazing raw talent, needs time to learn pro game."

Why does Rosen have to be “killing it” for me to think we’d be better off in the long run with him?

And he’s been inarguably better than Allen
in College
in the preseason
and now in the regular season as well

Now, the last 2 are very small sample sizes
But still
It’s been my opinion from before the draft that i didn’t want us to draft Allen
Mostly bc (even with his talent) he’d need more time than we were willing to give

And surprise, surprise...
we got desperate and put him in after 1 half of play
Yes, Peterman blows
But that’s not what was best for Allen’s development

Everyone knew he needed time
We didn’t give it to him
No wonder he’s struggled

Idk how u can even deny it at this point?
U guys are something else
