I love how Allen was "the guy that needs time", and 5 weeks into his career, "he sucks, (frank) him, let's draft another QB in the first round".
- Wetbandit1

That’s not what i said sir

I think we need to give him more time to learn before we can make a good judgement

I did think he had a much higher “bust” potential than Rosen, Darnold & Mayfield though

Everyone was making the "he needs time" point. The book on him was "amazing raw talent, needs time to learn pro game."
- Wetbandit1

And we didn’t give it to him
We rushed him into the second half of game1

Game freaking 1

And ppl are surprised that the guy who EVERYONE knew needed time is struggling?
Well no freaking sh!t

He should’ve been sitting this whole time

His play has NOT proven me wrong,
has it?

I was amalgamating all the comments into one.

And as for the last sentence, yeah, of course he did. But none of those guys are separating themselves from the rest either. Darnold is the best of the bunch so far, and he's extremely average.

Again, you're living in Fantasy Land where the coach has no one to answer to.

and that’s why we should’ve drafted a guy who didn’t need so much work

I don't disagree, Allen was the last guy I wanted, as I've said many, many times, but letting him sit with no other option, someone he can actually learn from, or running the ball 20 more times than throwing it is not going to help him. And of course he gets injured on a late, cheap shot which also happened to be his best pass of the day.

I don’t get this
Of course, it would be nice to have a decent Vet for him to “learn” from
But that’s also what the COACHES are for

You don’t NEED to have a Bradford or Alex Smith in order to learn & develop

It would’ve been nice
But not absolutely necessary

Yeah, Peterman is Peterman
But McD needs to go to Pegula and explain to him that Allen needs more time
He should be able to show him film and stats at this point that will back that up

Seems pretty obvious

So, at this time, i don’t think it’s Fantasy Land to have Allen sit for a bit
This injury even gives us an extra excuse to do so

Let’s
Develop
Allen
Correctly

That should be the #1 goal for the rest of this year
And should’ve been the main goal all along

Ok, pretend you're in charge of a lot of people, then tell them you're going to purposely choose to trust the most inept person in history to be your leader. See how long it takes for them to tune you out, because you obviously have no (frank)ing clue what you're doing.

McDermott doesn't have the luxury of doing what's best for anyone's long term success except for his own, and purposely putting Peterman out there is a one-way ticket to unemployment. If coaches got more than 3 years max, then maybe it would be ok, but fans will leave in droves because no one wants to watch the worst QB ever(I don't think it's even debatable at this point), your players will revolt and you will be sitting at home on Sundays instead of roaming the sideline, sure you'll still make millions, but I don't think any sane person becomes an NFL head coach for the money.

Again,
The bulk of the “learning” is done in the film room & the practice field
That’s what coaches are for

U seem to be completely ignoring that

- jdfitz77

Sorry with such a late response, but someone has to drive the economy of the US during working hours....unfortunately I only stepped backonce while you trolls all stepped back twice.
Ah, such is life.

So this logic seems to say that 1st string QB's don't get film study, practicd time, nor time with the coaches to develop.
As I am sure you know, nothkng could be further from the truth...i fact tbeg get far more of tne above during tbe week than QB2 and QB3 combined.
Furthermore, the Coach is literally in their ear during the field time, and when they are on the bench reviewing the past series of plays.

So to assert that a starter is loising quality development time by being the starter is just inaccurate at best.
Being the starter has a multiplier effect of quality developmental learning modalities.
Not sure where you are going with this line of reasoning.

Peterman has no effect on how Allen develops as a QB

I’ll why u can’t see that?

It should be about doing what’s best for Allen’s development,
no matter what other QBs we have

- jdfitz77

Actually, this is wrong... the coach should point to peterman and say to Allen:”do the opposite of that loser, always.”

Step2: profit
