Well, 40 yards, then a PI, then they made a stand.
- Wetbandit1

Yeah blaming the loss on the defense is silly. They were terrific. They made Watson look horrible. The offense sucked, and then Peterman threw up on himself

That organization is something else.

Look at every QB they’ve drafted in the first lately

Losman- Consolation prize at the end of first when three franchise guys are picked ahead of him

EJ- Literally no one had a first round grade on

Allen- Almost no one had a first round grade on.

It’s not luck, it’s poor management

- sbroads24

??

There was talk of him going first overall. He was always the guy the needed the most work, but he was always a first round guy. He was pretty much the last guy I wanted, but then again the "most ready" guy is the epitome of "meh" 75.5 rating, 55.6%, 156.5 yards per game, 2 td, 2 int, so maybe the class was overrated.

Most analysts couldn’t figure out why he was a first rounder. Scouts loved his raw skills.

He pretty much has the worst college numbers of any first round QB in decades.

And I like him a lot still. I think there is a ton to work with

You’re overreacting bc we are losing with Allen in there anyways

He led us to 3pts yesterday
But oh no, Peterman suuuuuucks is all I’m hearing
Well no sh!t Sherlock
Lmk when our Franchise QB starts making some real strides

- jdfitz77

Peterman does suck... epic like. Im fine with loosing with Allen, not fine with loosing with that other guy.
Im not having a debate with you about Allen, nice try though.

I like all the advanced stats, despite their deficiencies, but I can't stand the dbag way some present them or their point of view, kind of like this guy.

I was being serious, you can't teach 6'5", you can't teach being able to throw the ball 80 yards.

almost every mock draft at the end had a team getting allen at 5 or 6

lmk when they let him actually throw the ball downfield. The O-Line sucks, so they call short passes and running plays. It's hard to get yards when all your receivers are running 8 yard routes and/or are named Kelvin Benjamin.
- Wetbandit1

Allen has horrid accuracy...his crappy college completion percentage was worse than JP Losman's. If they "let" him throw down field, don't expect much. I recall one particular pass yesterday...Allen threw deep down the left sideline. The ball landed 10 feet out of bounds (not to mention 10 yards past the receiver). He's done that a bunch of times this season.

You can't teach accuracy. Either you have it, or you don't. I'm afraid they've wasted a # 1 pick on Allen - one of MANY questionable moves Beane has made. Guess they need to start all over....again.

Speaking of advanced stats, Skinner is top 10 in the NHL in GAR right now

My point is his yards were more when they were actually throwing the ball. He also overthrows guys on throw aways because he can and it's safe to do.

Bills are going nowhere, I am 100% focused on the Sabres.

Regarding the Sabres...

1) why won't they waive Larsson and Beaulieu to Rochester?

2) what do Nylander, CJ Smith, Oloffson and Pilut have to do to get promoted?

Asking for my wife.

The part of your logic that many of us think is flawed is that he’s somehow going to learn more from the sidelines than experience on the field. Or at least that’s what I disaowith
- sbroads24

Well does it look like he’s learning by playing right now?
I’m not seeing it
Maybe overwhelmed is too strong of a word,
but any progress seems very minimal to me

And i don’t understand why you (and others) are so against the idea that he can learn on the sidelines and that would make him better prepared once he’s in there?

Well maybe u should go back & rewatch the games
Bc there’s been many times where he has had time, & just can’t find anyone down field- even when there’s open WRs
Seems to me,
that the logical explanation is that he’s having trouble deciphering the coverages & figuring out where the open guys will be

And yes,
I do think more studying in the film room & practice will help get him better prepared for live game action

I don’t think that’s a very revolutionary idea

I’m against it because the other guy is Peterman.

And I think Allen should be playing anyways because it gives you an idea of what he is

U responded to my post first,
not the other way around

Idk why you’d be happy with watching our supposed “franchise QB” struggle so much week in & week out?

It would be one thing if we could see him improving from week to week
Just hasn’t happened though

And if u don’t wanna talk about it,
that’s fine
But it doesn’t change the OBVIOUS reality of the situation

We aren’t making the playoffs anyways

How many more games do we win with Allen in there?
And does it even matter?

Heck,
isn’t there an argument to be made that we want a really high draft pick anyways?

And...
Why do we need to “have an idea what he is” this week?
Why can’t we get him better prepared,
and then put him back in and see how he does?

Where’s the harm in that?
