Like you I didn’t pull my hair out over the summer’s FA signings. And while none of them are goons, they were brought, and overpaid, to protect their teammates. Other players were kept around to protect their teammates. Hasn’t happened.

They are 5 games into a Canuck career . One just came off concussion .

Seriously if I was playing and seen what happened I am not sure I would have done anything. I still didn't see a dirty play. I see players getting wrestled down all the time.

If I thought it was dirty of course I would jump in. I just didn't see it as dirty at the time.

It wasn’t really a hard hit. He just drove him into the boards. Puck had just been released a few seconds before so I had no issue with it. He then utilized a bit of a can opener to toss him on his head. That was the issue.

The league has basically told goons that Pettersson is off limits. Wish the Canucks could do the same.

The throw down wasn’t cool but it wasn’t crazy egregious either. Sucks that Pettersson got hurt, but I’m not heated about the play. I’m heated about how the Canucks responded.

Good for the league, but the Canucks looking to the league and officials to fight their battles is too much déjà vu.

player history has such a huge role in handing suspensions. 2 games for a first time offender, despite not seeming very big, is actually a testament to how the league views the play IMO.

A boy got hit by a man and got hurt. Get over it. I have mixed feelings over it but it was a hockey play, excessive and a little dirty. The league dealt with it. Move on. If they wanna show grit and regain some respect have someone Marchands size fight Marchand and take out your anger on him and not wait for somebbullpoop Bertuzzi type retribution. I honestly believe none of the players on the ice even realized what happened until they saw it after the game. I didn’t see much until after the hit/finishing move was replayed along with the chirping before it.

A perfect opportunity presents itself to ingratiate yourself with your teammates only five games in and you let it pass?

As for Roussel, I get that he just came off a concussion and that he probably doesn’t have his game legs under him yet. But if you’re not healthy enough to do what you were signed to do then why are you playing?

I don’t mean to single out the new guys, other then it was the justification for their signing. I’m just as disappointed in the rest of the team.

Naslund was never the same again after Moore. used to have that edge of your seat excitement that any time he had the puck it was dangerous.

After that he was just a good player, but that ability to do something special just never quite came back.

Anyone who claims dirty on the hit itself is just being dramatic. Timing, placement, everything about the hit itself was fine. Didn't care for the stick going between Petterssons legs, but that is neither here nor there. The throw was egregious to me BECAUSE Matheson was clearly pissed off about being embarrassed by the kid (the shot he threw at Pettersson before he went behind the net is evidence of that). All in all though, the response heavily outweighs the hit/play, 100% agree.

No one's poopting themselves over the fact the hit happened. They're pissed that the team got bullied again, despite this area being "addressed", and the response was to run to let the hall monitor tell the principal.

I have come to the conclusion Gudbrandson does need to be replaced.

I will give Schaller more than the 3 games he has played to see if he is a fit or not.
