Nylander might be a top 2 -3 forward on some teams but here he is our 4th, maybe 5th best forward. - PatC80
Maybe 6th after seeing what Kap is doing.

Even when LA scored to make it 2-1, never worried. This team feels different |

Nylander is such a loser If i was a player id be so jealous, antsy and pissed off that I cant be able to play or celebrate wins with the team and friends.
This contract bullpoop is so old now, he seriously has to come down to earth and Dubas cant be lowballing him. Literally his worth is 6.5-6.75M on a 6-8 year contract. 7M is the max i would go and that is still over doing it Anything over 7M is a joke, anytime nylander camps asks over 7M i would hangup the phone instantly. |

I’ll take him at a good contract and would love it.
But at this point...Dubas has a 6-1 team and a player in Kap that is playing lights out in his place. There’s no chance in hell that Dubas would cave in and Willie knows that.
He played the only card he had and so far has failed miserably. I’m interested to see where this goes in the coming weeks. Could hear some legit trade winds soon. |

No, it was pretty accurate. LA dominated a lot of the offensive zone, they just lack finishing ability. It would be ideal if the Leafs played like LA to take the pressure off their D and goalie and with their deadly shooters, they'd score even more than they already do. - Unholy_Goalie
Leafs are a better team than Kings, so no I don’t think it would be ideal if Leafs played like LA. I’ll take fast and skilled over big, slow and skilled any day. Doughty looked lost out there tonight. |

Kapanen is good (better than Johnsson and Ennis despite what some people thought before the season) but he's not better than Nylander. Kapanen is good enough to replace Nylander's production but Nylander is still clearly a better player on a different level. That being said, Kapanen replaces enough of his production and speed to be a suitable replacement. |

Willie is better than Kap.
But he just may be the more affordable player. |

LA won two Cups playing like that, albeit it with better players so the Leafs still have a long way to go. But the way LA plays is very good, they just don't have enough skill to capitalize on their chances. If the Leafs played like LA, their defensive game would improve, their Ozone time would increase and their overall game would be better. |

And these trade talks have to settle down. Unless we get a trade we can't refuse for nylander, then we pull the trigger. I would think someone that is young, 2 way defender and established at this point. Not stupid trades like faulk for nylander. Rather keep the current 60 pt winger, with a potential of 70-80 pts. |

Nah, fast as (frank) though and seems to be figuring out how to make plays at high speeds. A player to watch for sure |

On a side note, Sens and Habs have started the season much better than any of us would have ever thought.
I know it's early, but still.

It's a different game now. You need all 4 lines to be fast and able to play with the puck. |

Laugh at the truth all you want, the Capitals last playoffs played similar to how the LA Kings played. Stevens said it before the game in an interview as an answer to if how they play can still work. The difference is that Washington has elite, high level goal scoring talent to go with their big, heavy, pressure game. Vegas played with pure speed and got outplayed and intimidated.

Not that different. Washington did something similar to it last year. It's not a matter of having one or the other. It's a matter of doing both. |
