It's pretty close. You obviously don't want to bury yourself, and you don't want to be more than 3 or 4 points outside of a playoff spot by Thanksgiving. Anything outside of that is a very difficult climb, especially with the 3 point game.

A .500 record gets you to within that distance in most years.

Mitts has showed more fire this year than reinhart has in memory

This is a .500 team playing miles better than they were last year, and its obvious.

Anyone who thought this team was going to set the world on fire was setting teh bar too high.

There is still a lot of low end talent taking up money and space.

Once Pominville, Girgs, Larsson, Moulson are off the books.
Hopefuly we can move Okposo.

This team can start moving in new younger, faster pieces.

Matthews has 16 points in 7 games

Eichel has 5 points in 6.

This has just as much to do with our offensive deffeciency then our crummy defense. On the bright side Hutton/Ullmark have been lights out so far and I hope it can continue throughout the season.

Mcdavid has been on the score sheet for 9/10 Oilers goals this year. Mcdavid can make things happen and is a game changer.

We have seen flashes of that in Eichel but it seems most nights we have a 10 million dollar complimentary player
