Solid post, grade it a 9.25
Take some points off for
- not calling someone an idiot
- lack of sarcasm
- too much logic
- no pic of a hot redhead with ample headlights
I'd stop while you are ahead. - IonSabres

He got to learn a lesson and it didn't cost him a goal after all. He's very lucky |

I'll take it, but it's still a stupid rule, they didn't gain any advantage by being 8 inches offside there.

Sure, Girgs is a bit of an eye sore at times. But the 4th liner making 4th line money playing poorly(or not) isn't what's making/breaking this team.
Don't let it distract you from the fact that Okposo is bringing the same level of contribution as a 2 mil 3rd liner and is on the books for 5 more years at 6 mil |

technology has made sports absolute. judgement calls are becoming non existent. |

i mean, 18 year old d-man right? These are gunna happen all year long - Sabresfan-365
That is where playing on the right side might affect him. However I think offensively he can be more effective on the right side then the left. |

After being one of Thompson’s bigger supporters this off season, I have to say he looks absolutely lost out there.
Some moments where he shows some flashes of great hands and skill but mostly he’s been pretty much a non factor |

Perhaps, I always figured that a d-man would see the ice a bit better being on his strong side. You can flip him to the right side on the PP or something. But it's probably different for every d-man. |

If only Bogosian could play defense instead of chasing pacioretty to no avail |
|

|
He couldn't do that on the first line with Eichel last year - jcragcrumple
Hey Bud, hes not a 1st line player that can play against opposing 1st line players or someone that can receive a pass from a player like Eichel. Hes a 4th line grinder that needs good 4th line grinders next to him. And maybe a defensman that can hit someone in stride.
We need to grade players on what they are and not what the 1% chance they can be.... |

Yes they did. They gained the advantage of skating in on net and taking a shot instead of being forced to take a face off in the neutral zone.
EDIT: Egregious no calls like that are exactly what replay should be fixing. Give the ref 60 seconds to review. That's all it should take. If they can't determine the call on the ice was wrong in that amount of time, then the call on the ice should stand. |

I still think our top 6 should be:
Skinner-Eichel-Okposo
Sheary-Mitts-Reinhart
I will continue to post this in every blog until Phil gets the memo |

You said he could score 10+15 with a good fourth line, and I'm saying he was on the first line last year and didn't score that much. We'll see; he's on a good 4th line this year. Maybe he can do it. He's been stuck in a rut for 3 years. I'd love to see him breakout, but I don't think he will |
