AA isn't actually slow so I'm not sure where people get that. He's tall and has a long stride so he might look slow but he gets up the ice relatively fast.

He's scored around 20 goals for several years now whether here or in CLB. Why 15, cause he's a 3rd liner?

He does the dirty work along the boards, scores most of his goals in close but can also snipe. He's also one of the few guys who consistently goes to the net and bothers the goalie.

While going to the net can be taught, effectively screening the goalie is more than just a bit of an art form...otherwise you'd have all sorts of Tomas Holmstrom clones all over the league.

His salary's hardly cost prohibitive and it's been a silly narrative put forth here since he was signed.

Also, if you do decide to part with Saad, now is hardly the time. Talk about horrible asset management.

I agree with you about Artie. He has at least average speed and I have seen him trying to take the bull by the horns on that third line. Thing is, he's really not that kind of player ..... good hands and size in front of the net. Good compliment to some speed or playmaker on that line .... which has none at the moment

Fortin may not be a prototypical top 6 player but maybe top 9? If continues to play the way he has I think there’s a spot somewhere for him.

If he has to go back to the Rock for more development that’s hardly a bad thing either, as he’s what, just 20?

No argument here. If Fortin can harness his speed towards consistent offensive production whether for him or his linemates and not just forechecking that doesn't lead to anything, then he's a keeper. His water level IMHO is 3rd line where he could be (as someone else said) like Frolik, i.e. 20/20 winger. If he can do that, then spot duty in the top 6 isn't out of the question either.

A few others have stated this before but Fortin may be one of those rare cases of players who for whatever reason can't dominate in the minors but can amp it up at the NHL level. So far in his brief NHL stint, he is very noticeable in a good way.

However, in the Hogs games that I have seen him play, he was not noticeable at all which is not good for a player with his speed. Super fast guys should always be noticeable. Honestly, before his call up, Schroeder and Broadhurst were significantly better and noticeable. Fortin was a non factor in those early Hogs games.

Most likely.

But like I said previously, Crawford will be pulled after letting in 5 goals tonight and the Hawks will let in 8 overall.

Glad to hear Crow will be back in net tonight. Also glad they kept Berg up just in case there is any setbacks with him. Johnson should be getting more regular time in Rockford to continue to develop his game

Very glad Crow will get the start ,little surprised Forsberg never got a look well Crow was unavailable .It not like Ward was lights out with his ,879sv% over that time . Hope we don't lose Forsberg for nothing, as I feel he has a future in the NHL . Unlike Ward who is in the final stage of his career .

Nice with the first, I figured the second Q wanted to scare motivate as well as maybe appease his trade request (?) 3, sad but I expected it. Too many dumb penalties and not much shown from his game. It's good when a d man is quiet, not a forward.
