Totally agree, nice to know there are some Arty lovers here. I like him where he's at, come on AEL_FOX, I'll say it with you, he needs Sikura on his wing. I wouldn't mind if Saad played with him either. - I Am The Breadman

Why? Turns out he can play 3C as well as 2C and if he had some linemates who could score a little as well would give the Hawks an efffective 3rd line. If Saad is able to figure things out, he can either go back to the 2nd line or play on the 3rd with AA - HawkintheD
There comes a point where either Crap or get off the pot. Saad is a albatross and how many more games do we need to watch and make excuses that he will return to form ? I was a huge critic of toews and in my opinion he earned that criticism, however he has turned his game around and was given 2 linemates and took advantage . Saad has no excuses he is playing with Kane and schmaltz he should be more affective. Anisomov is slow and for 4.5 million we who may net you 15 goals id rather see Chicago put that money to better use and play 1 of the many bottom 6 guys we have who bring more energy .
Stan won't go out and try and bring in Nylander due to what the cost would be and Toronto wants a defenseman who would Chicago give up murphy maybe but I don't see that happening. Kane needs a consistent player and Duchene is hands down better than schmaltz and Saad. |

Drink the kool aid much! Saad is a bum! He's a headcase and washed up. I hope the Hawks trade him now just like I wish the Hawks had traded Toews last season when he sucked or when Kane should have been traded in 2013 when he hurt the Hawks brand. I have had it with the blackhawk organ-I-zation coddling players. And while we're at it get rid of the Chelsea dagger goal celebration song, it's irritates me! - paulr

AA isn't actually slow so I'm not sure where people get that. He's tall and has a long stride so he might look slow but he gets up the ice relatively fast.
He's scored around 20 goals for several years now whether here or in CLB. Why 15, cause he's a 3rd liner?
He does the dirty work along the boards, scores most of his goals in close but can also snipe. He's also one of the few guys who consistently goes to the net and bothers the goalie.
While going to the net can be taught, effectively screening the goalie is more than just a bit of an art form...otherwise you'd have all sorts of Tomas Holmstrom clones all over the league.
His salary's hardly cost prohibitive and it's been a silly narrative put forth here since he was signed.
Also, if you do decide to part with Saad, now is hardly the time. Talk about horrible asset management. |

To say now is not the point to trade saad would be bad asset management, is false premises, if Chicago was to target say Duchene, saad alone won't get that deal done, but Chicago would have to sweeten the deal anisomov may or may not be the final piece but he is expendable. And I don't think hawks fans would be upset . Unless Chicago moved schmaltz and then the numbers don't work .

Hey team - new blog coming up shortly.
I am just waiting on a couple notes.
One of those being, when Crawford comes off the IR today, who gets sent down? Martinsen? Johnson? Forsberg?
Stay tuned. |

Ottawa is in rebuild mode. Should they move Duchene (and I'd rather not see him in Chicago) they won't be asking for 25 to 30 year olds in return. They'll want younger roster player, prime prospects and/or high draft picks and the Hawks cannot to go there. |

Justin I hate to sound like a negative NELLY , but let's be honest Saads time in Chicago is no longer welcomed. We don't need a 6 million dollar head case who shows up once in awhile. I feel his attitude and preparation is affecting the ,line of Kane and schmaltz .
Stan has a golden opportunity to improve this team and in my opinion Saad , Anisomov, murphy , Forsberg and rutta should all be shown the door..
Duchene would look great in a Indian head sweater, maybe a package deal of saad and anisomov for Duchene that free up over 10 million and would allow the hawks to resign both schmaltz and Duchene. Schmaltz would move to the wing position. - Taylorst1
Please explain why if Saad and Anisimov are as bad for this team as you say, someone will trade you Duchene for them? |

He's tradable, I would think, and I never said he couldn't be traded in a hockey deal, but "expendable" and "shown the door" would seem to indicate "uselss bum" which is hardly the case...so agree to disagree.
Also like someone else said, if he's such an overpaid useless plug, what makes you think OTT wants to take him back in a deal for the great Dutch? |

My guess is DeBrincat, Schmaltz or Kahun. Realistically they could all use 2-3 years of seasoning in Rockford. The best course of action may be to send all 3 down now. |

You'd think Saad plus a young prospect and a late round pick would get the Duchene deal done. Hold onto Arty and now you are looking at a team that is very deep down the middle. Toews-Dutch-Arty-Kruger. Some would say, that may be the best down the middle this team has seen in 10 years. |

I'm an Anisimov fan, but if the Hawks decide to deal him Ottawa makes perfect sense especially in the off-season. After Arty's bonus is paid on July 1 his salary for the year is $2 million, with a $4.55 million cap hit. The following season his bonus/salary totals $3 million. He seems like the ideal replacement for Duchene when he walks.
Note: I am not advocating trading Anisimov. The above suggest only applies if the Hawks have a plan to replace AA. |

The Hawks aren't getting Duchene. He'll look for a big money deal next season and want more than his $6 million, he's not worth that. I wouldn't give up a long term asset like Saad for a few months of Duchene. |

A 3rd line with Anisimov, Saad, and Sikura would be nice to see. Space creator, shooter, and playmaker. All play good defense too. |

Yes what an amazing day for Canada. We have no economy, we have a Prime Minister that is a laughing stock domestically and internationally, we have no security and we have forgotten how important our Armed Forces and Veterans are, to mention just a few disappointing issues - but wow man we have pot - how freakin’ wonderful. - Z3Hawk

Yesterday was no different than the day before, except people are complaining that weed is much more expensive now. I have the feeling that legalizing weed may not have the impact people thought. It will be more expensive and the government will tax the hell out it.
There still needs to be a shift in mindset that weed is on par with alcohol in many regards. Such as driving impaired and consuming under the legal age. There still needs to be lots of public education as there is a portion of the population that feels the impaired driving rules and age requirements don't apply to weed. |

Like that third line a lot more than what is the third line now. However, if AA has to go to line 2 because Schmaltz can't cut it at center, then it changes the dynamic. |

Long term I see Sikura in the top 6 but would be fine with Fortin on line 2 and Sikura on line 3 to start. Personally I'm not high on Fortin (no pun intended in light of the side convo) and don't see him in the long term plans but do see Sikura as part of the new baby core. |

You’d have to think so, at least if it’s smoked vs say edibles; but even then does that make one more susceptible to certain types of cancers.
There’s really no exhaustive or conclusive research on any of it but if legalization continues you would think more reputable studies would probably be conducted. |
