So you end with palyer like Sam Reinhart. Which isn't bad, but it's not great. - tomburton99
Yep. Or Ryan Murray. I still can't believing that diarrhea-guzzling idiot Garth Snow tried to trade every pick for him. |

Good draft for a d-man. Ryan Murray is fine. But I can't bellieve he went ahead of Reilly, Lindholm, Dumba, Skjei, Maatta, Ceci and Matheson.
Whispers. Ryan Murray wouldhave been better than Reinhart. But Reinhart got you Barzal. So win-win. |

Yeah no-harm, no-foul I guess
I think Maatta stinks personally. But Reilly/Linholm/Dumba turned out to be great picks. I get people passing on Reilly though, he was coming off playing like 7 games before hurting his knee and sitting out the rest of that year of juniors. There was a lot of risk in that pick, it just happened to pay off for the Leafs. |

Doesn't seem like it. - tomburton99
Please explain? Because Chytil could possibly use more development time or something else? |

Kreider has 6 points in 7 games and the team just got 3 points on back to backs. I am pretty good |

Or because people thought he could be a future top 6 center that is now in the conversation to be moved to the wing. |

...about 15 games into his career. Get a grip!! So, now the human melting candle is telling us exactly what the future of the Rangers is going to look like?
This whole conversation is dumb. |

I mean it's not. I want them to give Chytil as much time he needs unti he's ready and also define whether or not he's center. I don't care if he takes a couple of years in the AHL to do it. Just stop screwing around. |

it's all because of Howden, nobody expected he'd be this good this quickly and it might make sense to just run with him right now along with Hayes and Zib
if Chytil goes to Hartford, I am sure it will be to play center |

And by sliding his ELC that could save NY from having to protect him as a keeper in the Seattle expansion draft, which is also a huge factor here |

I think he'll be a second-pairing guy. I don't think super highly of him, but I don't think he's bad or anything either. |

Agreed. Skeji is good 2nd, maybe a great one with a lot of upside. First pairing guys to me need to be gifted offensively and lock down on the D side along with playing in all situations rarely leading to mistakes. Skeji does not do that |

I don't know, so what are we really saying here, that we are fine with him going to Hartford and not playing again for the Rangers this year to avoid that 9 game mark. Screw that. The kid is young, he's developing, and if he can use a few games in Hartford fine, but I can give a damn less about his entry level contract. I think it benefits him to play more games in the NHL this year, and I think just keeping him in Hartford to save the year on entry level is just stupid.
A player has to have something to play for, and you've randomly take that away from him by banishing him to Hartford with no chance of coming back up because of some entry level deal issue, I think that would be monumentally stupid.

Or they could avoid having to protect him in an expansion draft, thus allowing them to keep the 10 guys they want plus Chytil. |

Four teams are sending TWO scouts to tonight's #leafs-#pens game: Carolina, New Jersey, N.Y. Rangers and Tampa.
That's unusual. |
