One type makes you crave and depend on it like Cigarettes

The other type of addiction is the use of something that makes you feel good to cope. This would cover over-eating, booze(Does fit both), Weed, video games ect. Basically using something as a distraction.

VERY different effects on neurotransmitters that can cause addiction and recent studies have shown that only approx 9% of users develop a dependent abuse disorder with cannabis. Also effects of addiction and withdrawal are not anywhere near as detrimental, and you know, overdosing is MUCH easier on opiods. These are just stats from medical sources and a medical professional who sees far bigger issues with opiod and meth abuse than any pot user ever. (Also, I've never used any recreational drugs so I'm not advocating for cannabis use, but I'll take it all day over the opiods and meth, etc).

If you look at deaths from obesity related illnesses (estimates vary, but some say as many as one in five deaths in the US), compared to death by cannabis (none, in the history of the world, ever), well....maybe the NHL and NHLPA should be getting together and hammering out a cheese ban in the new CBA.

Players should be able to use Marijuana regardless but at the VERY LEAST they should be able to use CBD strains to treat injuries. Its a no brainer. CBD is more effective and safer than most of the pain killers the NHL probably supports them popping

Its 2018, you can get strains that dont have the psychoactive component (THC) present so I dont see why the NHL wouldnt support them using CBD. Its about time we started realizing the medicinal benefits of weed instead of that reefer madness propaganda the state rammed down your throats in the 60s because big pharma and alcohol companies were scared of losing money

See thats where theres a stereotype. People picture someone smoking weed and they envision them dumb as rocks on the couch in a cloud of smoke with hands in a chip bag. Theres strains that give you energy, mainly sativas. I usually opt for for vaping (much safe and less harmful than smoking it) Sour Diesel strain before I work out or play hockey. Gets ya going and focused.
