Great deal for him still on IR. Hoping he picks up where he left off. |

Maybe (MAYBE, with no authoritive information) they thought Sikura could benefit from more Rockfish time.
This is not (or should not be) just a “this year” proposition - need to look down the road. - StLBravesFan
It looked like he needed some time. I don't know how he lasted so long during camp, he wasn't a standout player, but the opposite can be said about those who are playing that didn't have good camps. |

Huh? Schmaltz wins board battles and is actually pretty good defensively. He just isn't a physical player at this point. Pretty sure TT got PK time when he was here too.
Both have Top 6 talent. I'm not sure what you are watching. Just because a player isn't a banger or overly physical doesn't mean they don't have top end talent. - bhawks2241
Schmaltz doesn't often win board battles and is always out of position defensively. He's good at stripping the puck in the offensive zone. He's never in the position to break up a play or block a shot in his own zone. |

Not sure who was "advocating" but Stan hasn't created a
'contending' team either - gazza53
Is it too early to use the "if the season ended today the Hawks would be in the playoffs" argument?

Hartman 6 1 3 4
Duclair 6 2 2 4
Vinnie 6 2 1 3
AA 6 1 1 2
Kunitz 6 0 1 1
Hayden 4 1 0 1
Whether or not it's McD hamstringing Stan
or Stan being a complete moron and Q being
Q their is dysfunction wherever you look.
Fortin might not be the answer but last year
Cat went 13 games with one goal before becoming
what he is, has he made a turnover as bad as what
Kunitz did nope, but he's to blame, he's a 21 year
old undrafted rookie playing with one of the best of
all time he just might need some time to get used
to things, and if they thought him good enough to
play the second line why not try him on the 3rd line
with Arty and Hayden/Kampf he's got something no
one else has on this team outside of Kahun..
Instant gratification ain't coming with this team or
it's rookies especially with Q as coach, sorry but not

But that wasn't good enough for Q. Or for Blowman. Mainly on Q.
I was wondering if Raanta might be the 2nd time we let/shipped off a talented G.

As a HC, I would be livid at the lack of effort last night. CC comes back after an umpteen month layoff and you get that. So what Zona played a tight game. Fight your a$$ through the muck and make a play. Let's see how this team responds, but I am not expecting much. Roster still lacks any real depth and they are muscled out of games easily.
Q does not have anywhere close to the type of roster he needs to play this up tempo/possession style game he wants to play. Yet he continues to try and play it. Trap and counter punch. I could care less how boring it is. With this roster, what else can you do? |

hey bogie, hope you are well.
yes, my q hackles were re-awakened with that piss-poor performance by the club.
it's that dork trying like hell to hammer that round peg into the square hole.
well you what the definition of insanity is. so arizona is a defensively minded club and prevented easy entries and uncontested moves. nothing like keeping your scheme the same and doing it over and over and over again (push-em back entry anyone?) to realize it just doesn't work.
frustrated w/q yes.
why didn't he sit kunitz after the absolutely idiotic pass that gave the coyotes an insurmountable lead? had that been fortin, hayden, kampf or plenty of others, they wouldn't have seen the ice. but q is gonna q.
i haven't had much to say, jury is still out on these guys. we'll know whether q keeps his job by the new year, the club will either be in or out of contention by then (although common thinking these days is thanksgiving). |

Kunitz is the new Rozy. That old salty vet that Q salivates over. Although Rozy had some value when slotted correctly, Kunitz offers zilch other then eating some cap space.

The DOG penalty for putting the puck directly out of play from the o-zone is frustrating.
The embellishment call - when coupled with a simultaneous penalty on the opponent - is just stupid.
Get rid of it.

And the Caps made up a 3-goal deficit in about 10 minutes. |
