Need to put Anisimov with Kane, and drop Schmaltz to line 3 to try and drive some offense in the bottom 6. - EnzoD[/quote There is no 'one goal' this season. It's called 'survival' . Ugh ! |

did not see the 1st...caught the last 2
1. Congrats to craw and making it back and looking pretty good. Happy for him and the hawks.
2. Of course a team that has scored only 4 goals and none 5v5 in 5 games comes in here and score 3 5v5 goals
3. Of course a team that has been filling the net for 5 games gets only 1 vs a pretty good defensive team/goalie.
4. Or course two former hawks steal the show: vinny gets the game winner and raanta shut'em down.
Hawks better figure out how to allow fewer than 3 goals or they aint going anywhere but to lotteryville again...
helluva a brain cramp by the mr vet #14..cross ice grenade and the back breaker 3rd goal...
oh did saad play??? not sure

Gotta give a tip of the cap to the Arizona defense and goaltending. Hawks were their best tonight but still had chances. They didn't manage to put those chances in, but that is the way it goes sometimes. - breadbag
77 SATs - only 34 on net - 27 blocked.
Phoenix did a good job mucking up the passing and shooting lanes, especially through the center slot. Hawks could make the cross ice pass to get Raanta moving - and I don’t recall any odd-man’s.
Of course, not many Indianhead’s at the net. |

The Hawks typically play poorly after a long layoff, this isn’t surprising. The Yotes score 0 5 on 5 goals in 5 games then unload on the Hawks for 4 in one game.
The Hawks finally showing their true colors tonight. - DarthKane
that is an incredibly strange multi year trend with this team...3 or more days = major suckage..
do other teams have this problem?? |

Forget "One Goal" it's called "Survival" this year, and maybe beyond. Ugh ! |

I've seen enough from Manning too. Please give Davidson a shot - he can't possibly be worse than Manning. Or if Q is in love with Manning - then sit Rutta who sucks almost as bad as Manning. At least Gustafsson is proving some offense to offset his shoddy defense. I don't know if Forsling is the answer because the last time we saw him he wasn't all that good either - but hopefully he's better than Manning and Rutta. |

And maybe he’ll shoot some and not look for Kane on every (frank)ing rush. - StLBravesFan
In theory I’d like to stack line 2 with Schmaltz on Wing and Anisimov centering, but Schmaltz forces the puck to Kane every shift. That and the absolute death of any offense on the current bottom 2 lines is why I’d move Schmaltz to a line with Kampf and Saad or Saad and Hayden |

I like how we focus on having playmakers, okay they're nice having, where are the play finishers? We need them to show up just a little bit more. Some sloppy passing tonight plus too much of it. |

One game. Not time for gloom and doom...........yet.
I thought they controlled Play for good portions of he game. Ariz blocked a lot of
Shots and tipped a lot of passes. In those situations Hawks need to learn to shoot and crash the net. Finesse ain’t gonna get it done. |

I know long layoffs sucks, they always do that. It's just that it's against the yotes makes it sting more. In regulation.
I want some Q b lander now, just not the top line. - I Am The Breadman
Swap Fortin and Martinsen for Highmore and Sikura. Sit Manning for Davidson.
DeBrincat - Toews - Kahun
Schmaltz - Anisimov - Kane
Saad - Highmore - Sikura
Hayden - Kruger - Kampf
Kunitz
Keith - Jokiharju
Gustafsson - Seabrook
Davidson - Rutta
Manning |

I just can't believe they played like this with Corey's first game back.
There was no effort to get in front of the goalie, none until late in the 3rd period. This team really plays some soft ass hockey some games and tonight was one of them |

They’re a true .500 team - 3 wins 3 losses - that’s who they are - with a good Crawford - win a couple, lose a couple.
It’s what they would have been last year with a quality Crawford all year.
Can the be true .500 or one/two/three wins above and win enough OT games to make the playoffs - that’s the question. |

When Kane entered the league he defaulted to a pass first mentality. Over the years his shot totals have increased. Hopefully guys like Schmaltz and others start to understand they need to shoot more. |

Schmaltz has a nice shot and flashed it that second period with good chances, but he has to be broken of crossing the blue line looking left or right for the unselfish play. Can he wear a shock collar when he looks for Kane? |

I'm waiting for one of you guys to call the hawks slumpbusters. They were the cure-all for the dogs tonight. |
