Not only speed...puck control, creativity. Deslauriers and Shaw don't have that.
Talking about Shaw, every time I see highlights of Debrincat I want to throw the remote at the tv. - stinger67

There might be a "bad" contract out there that could provide some sort of help. - WaterBoy
Maybe, I'd be open to that of course... You got someone in mind? |

Dustin Brown?
I would think the buyout is the only option as well. I'm just playing with it. |

Seabrook? Mtl would most likely need to add a pick or a prospect. Chicago might want to get away from that deal as well. |

Both those guys are better than Alzner so I doubt Arizona does that |

How many more years does he have? Not sure LA would be interested in adding another really slow D |

You need to take some $$$ if you trade him. Seabrook is slowing down, but my guess is that he can still play and is better than Alzner.
Or maybe you pay part of his salary in the the said deal. But then, you may just buy him out like you said. |

Yea, just bite the bullet... Won't even be that much after this season!
I'd take a bad expiring contract for him (Spezza) but who's gonna agree to that? |

8,6 millions cap hit for 3 more years (if you count this season). The guy is injuried quite a lot, but could be usefull when healthy. If the Ducks want to get rid of that deal... |

It would prevent us from targeting a prime target ufa like Panarin, Duchene or Stone though.
Buyout remains the best option but Perry has been the most interesting name we could think of. |

I still wouldn't do it
Trade him for Marc Methot and keep a million in salary for the final 3 years, then trade Methot for a 4th a the deadline |
