The biggest tip would be playing the version of the Pens that the Habs got to play.

There was no comparison.

Didn't watch the Leafs vs Pens game yesterday so I'll take your word for it.

Those of you talking about that (frank)ing great film... if you're in Toronto or near by:

They're playing it at the Cinesphere in December.

Well it took the Leafs all they had to get that OTW on the "lowly" Habs.

And they lost to the Sens.

Leafs looked sluggish compared to some of their other games though. Marner in particular I thought looked like he was reaching for the puck a lot, maybe not getting the tape-to-tape passes that he's benefited from in previous games or just missing a bit of jump to get there.

How excited are you about Tkachuk?

He looks like he got the goal scoring gene while Matt got the total piece of poop + assists gene.

Very excited. I had mixed feelings about him, and wanted Zadina at the time, but he's looked really good so far. Not just putting up points, but defensively as well.

Also excited about Lajoie, kid came out of nowhere really and is looking great, in an admittedly small sample size.

I don't care what it takes, we need Nylander in the lineup.

$8 million, $9 million, whatever it takes. Just sign the guy! Drive a Brinks truck up to his garage!

Get 'er done, Dubas, before it's too late!

Holy franking poop!

Dubas is doing a bad job. We could have had him signed before the beginning of last season for 40 dollars over 8 years.

Don't wanna be a party pooper but I just cannot see a guy who scored 15 points in the AHL keeping up the pace in the NHL all year.

But agreed, he's looked great since the beginning of the season. Didn't even knew who he was before.

No, but it's fun to watch while it lasts, and gives up hope that he'll be a good player down the road.

Maybe the Pens should begin by trying to beat Niemi.

What a lack of effort last night was.

Pens did do a good job of tightening the gaps and leaving no space out there though so I'll give them credit for that.

Is it just me or has Marner seemed a lot less prominent the last couple games. I am not really seeing that same dynamic play. Could it be that Babcock has reigned the guys in to play more defense?

Also, Marleau seems to have lost a step this year. I am hoping it is just the normal veteran off to a slow start, and maybe pacing himself a bit. If not, I hope they can find a way to do something about the last year of that contract.

Dermott was the best Leaf player last night.

Matthews needs Nylander if/when he comes back. Kapanen has done well filling in, but tonight showed that you can shut down Matthews and I am not sure Kapanen, and a low-energy Marleau are enough.

It hasn't helped that Tavares and Kadri seem a little snakebit lately.

- Aetherial

Last night Marner had 3/4 behind the back passes to the Pens, tough to have any sustained pressure when you give it up that easily....I thought he's looked pretty good for most of the season. Marleau is an up and down the wing type guy....I also think he hasnt' looked to bad....last night was just a poope game by the refs...leafs didnt play their best but the refs pretty much stole any chances of a win with ZERO power plays when there should have been a couple. Kadri's line was the best line last night....give them time and they're going to start to light it up.

LW is hampering that line. Johnnson hasn't been good and Lindholm doesn't have any hands.

Nylander getting back on the roster will be a big help. I think it get's overlooked in this situation but getting either Nylander some time on that line or him back on the top line makes the top 9 so much better. Kap at some point get's put back there and that line will be a lot more offensively threatening.
