And yet the Isles beat the Kings big time the other night. I expect a better effort today, 3-2 Swords.

8 or 9 new players will take time. Coaching is a big issue and will be all season. Botts will not fire Phil in-season. If anything it could be after the season is over.


They have to do something with the garbage on this team. Trade, waive, mame, stab, poison their food, have them watch CNN, anything.

And I'll say it again. They had no balls at camp, should have waived Larsson and Beaulieau and kept Olofsson and Pilut.

In terms of raw talent the roster was significantly upgraded from last year, I agree the on ice results have not been there but imo botts has provided Housley with a decent to good roster, it’s on the coach to get them to play better.

The lack of preparation is not nice to see, regardless of roster turnover and adding new players, these are pro athletes and being prepared to play is the last thing we should have to worry about.
That said there was a good amount of turnover this offseason, hopefully they can get things back on track today.
There’s no need to jump off the bridge but to dismiss these early seasons struggles completely is a mistake. I would love to see Housley actually get mad and rip them in the media when they play that badly, in game adjustments and changes to the pp would be nice to see as well.

Aside from Beaulieau, I would agree with everything else. If Olofsson and Nylander keep it up, they have to consider a recall by Thanksgiving.

Larry, Bogo and Beaulieau combined are a $9M in cap hits. That's a lot of cap crap. If you prefer to throw Girgs into that mix, it's $10.6.

Yes, GMJB is exactly that. He's another inexperienced piece of the puzzle that's learning on the job, That's what Pegula's consistently hired, up and comers instead of tried and true experienced G.M..

I think a good G.M. would've override Housley's choices of assistants. Who allows a high school coach behind an NHL bench? An inexperienced G.M.

Who makes the trade that benefits the other team by giving up gold for copper prices? An inexperienced G.M.

Who's the in experienced coach? wowwe i cant teach hockey housely. certainly not the best available.

Two coaches the Sabres had in their system and let go - Iron Mike Keenan and John Tortorella. Both won cups.

Okposo's dbl minor was bad but the pk was horrible. Good teams over come, bad teams loose.

This team has done 1 thing consistently, look confused 200 ft north, south, east and west. 200' of confusion.

He looks more comfortable than I expected this early. Better than expected defensively. Much better than expected handling the physical side of things.

Dahlin has played well, especially defensively.

The hype was pretty high.
