They have Backstrom as their main puck handler, Carlson at the point, and Kuznetsov as a dangerous threat. I think all of the issues fall on the coach. he played Passive and he coaches passive. There is No reason at all that we can't make a first pass out of the zone. This is fundamentals 101... I am sick of this crap. I don't think Housley is the answer at all...

Here's an idea on the PP, instead of the crappy back pass, try shooting the puck softly into the corner and send 2 aggressive skaters to out battle the one defender that will be there , well because you have the MAN ADVANTAGE..
