They have to stop that crappy pass back play they miserably execute all the time.

Murray shafted Nolan, Nolan did what he did on purpose. This team will play better under Nolan then Housley.

I agree nolan would get more out of the players. I've always liked ted.

Still not happening, because of trying to ruin the tank

Here's an idea on the PP, instead of the crappy back pass, try shooting the puck softly into the corner and send 2 aggressive skaters to out battle the one defender that will be there , well because you have the MAN ADVANTAGE..
- hehateme

I get that people hate the optics of the drop pass, but they give the puck to Eichel and he's among the best in the NHL at zone entries. It's simply not the problem.

Aggressive puck retrieval? They have none on their PP and almost none on the team.

Jbotts bargain basement?
That makes 0 sense.
Best man available

Sabres played a good road game.
Okposo penalties killed them

- Boss34

Yes, GMJB is exactly that. He's another inexperienced piece of the puzzle that's learning on the job, That's what Pegula's consistently hired, up and comers instead of tried and true experienced G.M..

I think a good G.M. would've override Housley's choices of assistants. Who allows a high school coach behind an NHL bench? An inexperienced G.M.

Who makes the trade that benefits the other team by giving up gold for copper prices? An inexperienced G.M.

Who's the inexperienced G.M.? BOTTS, certainly not the best g.m. available.
Who's the in experienced coach? wowwe i cant teach hockey housely. certainly not the best available.

Two coaches the Sabres had in their system and let go - Iron Mike Keenan and John Tortorella. Both won cups.

Okposo's dbl minor was bad but the pk was horrible. Good teams over come, bad teams loose.

This team has done 1 thing consistently, look confused 200 ft north, south, east and west. 200' of confusion.

So he can enter the zone with the puck whoopie.... The PP is horrible and not working at all. I think we have had 13 PP's in the last 2 games with ZERO goals.. San Jose scored twice on the same double minor and really did nothing special but set up and shoot..... But we can still go with Eichel is one of the best at entering the offensive zone....

Haven't seen anyone say the PP isn't a problem. You're talking about fixing the one thing that's working on it though.

They're going up against other professionals, who when on defense are doing their best to disrupt this passing.

Good defencemen can make these outlet passes while under pressure and make them to someone who is in a position to receive the pass. We should try and get some of those.

It's possible Guhle and Pilut can do that, but my guess is they're still a little to weak defensively to be brought up.

- Sabresfan-365

Passing is just as much on the receiver as on the passer. We also don't have guys who can receive a pass.

Housley was a pegula hire.

Pegula didnt let either guy "go", those replacements were 25 years ago. Both guys were hired and fired without cups since their tenure in buffalo.

Sometimes you slip and refer to the Sabres as "your team" or "you guys" kinda seams like trolling

Seriously, the drop passes are ridiculous.

3 or 4 guys standing still at the blue line waiting for eichel to lug the puck up.

Our team isn't built to dump and chase

We are now a skilled passing team , that lacks skill and passing

Actually drop passes are their best passes. From what i have seen in Vegas and San Jose, forward and sideway passes are their problem. And hitting a guy in stride - foggettaboutit.

I'm usually not one to be pessimistic at the beginning of the year but did anyone see the (frank)ing line combos Housley put out at practice today? You gotta be (frank)in kidding me!!! Not only does this guy have the worst haircut I've ever seen but this is straight incompetence.

I kinda feel like the passing is there, but the recieving the pass isn't there.

Drop pass should be pretty good, its sorta like hutton is a great passer, when he leaves the puck behind the net for the defenseman.

4 goals by the defenseman, not drop passes, I would guess

I like pommer with eichel, worked last year for a bit.
Pommer is putting in a good effort every game.

Apparently phil isnt seeing "superstar" sam as a #1 guy
This proves sam has been brutal.
Next stop for sam : the matt moulson press box

Phil needs to try something, why not juggle the lines.
Skinner only got 2 periods with eichel, before getting switched.

Thompson would be on the 90 to Rochester if they were in buffalo and not out west
