I could of scored that goal with someone's butt pressed against Parent's face. Elliot's fault for not being aggressive and pushing Palmeri out of the way, the puck still would of gone in though.

Elliot was way off his angle

Please fire Lappy. Passive, stationary box. Great PK.

I hear what you are saying but his face did stop a puck once...

Let’s blame this one on the defense too. Elliott leaves half a net wide open. That was like NHL 94’.

If they don’t get goaltending soon then this season is over before it began.

Imagine if the Flyers buried their point blank chances like other teams did against them. No wonder people think other teams goaltending is so great.

He was a great penalty killer and a beloved player. I will always have a warm place for him in my heart. Doesn’t mean he can coach worth a damn

Finally the Flyers face a team with poor goaltending...should of had Konency goal, should of poke checked the pass on Patricks goal and that Voracek goal he committed too early.

Good win for Flyers, still need to continue the work ethic and they will be fine.

21 shots for and against, that is good against. 70% face off wins, really hard to win if you lose that many draws

I’m just glad it was in regulation at least

I think what really helped was having Coots/Giroux on 1 line and Laughton/Patrick on the other.

Laughton is really starting the year strong. Using his speed and playing pretty good defensively. Being able to move him around in the top 9 and him actually producing offensively is awesome.

Jake was both dominant and dangerous this game. He also was more responsible on the D side.
What an effort!
We need that Jake more often!

The Weal line had another good game. I don’t love Simmonds on the top line

I really needed that. Good team effort. Much more solid in their own zone. PK still let’s them down. Flyers could learn from NJs PK.

How about the players on the PK who allowed Boyle to just walk in, take his time and pick a corner?

More stellar pK work, and top notch goaltending.

That wasn’t a corner, that was half the net. Yes Laughton released and the D didn’t step out but that has to be a save your goalie makes while on the PK

Sure it was a corner. I'm not saying Elliott couldn't have done a better job there. His mistake is he was prevented from coming out to cut down the angle by a player in the crease so what he has to do is forcibly come out and create the contact and fight for better positioning. That doesn't change the fact that you can't give any NHL player that amount of time and space against your goalie.
