That's hilarious... My wife reminds me of my Drill Sargent. I've learned to tune her out. |

Just when I thought maybe I was wrong about this years team....they emphatically remind me why tanking is the only reasonable course of action.
Our team is bad. Our record so far this season is a fluke. - SimpleJack

Blowman signed 3 scrubs this off-season (not counting Ward, he's an OK #2) and traded off another good young player for cap relief, relief he did not use to improve the team. This team is a total clownshow. - kwolf68

Because good teams set NHL records for most shots given up in a period. |

Trying to think of the last time I've seen a team give up 30+ shots in one period of play. |

Calm down. Belarus once lost a game 82-0 in International play. - Hawks_49
I had to look that one up. Wow! Talk about running up the score. Even worse, Thailand lost 92-0 to South Korea in 1998. |

Yeah but this is the NHL.
Honestly, no joke, im pretty sure we just witnessed the most one sided period in NHL history.
That’s how bad we are. |

He's had a good game, driving to the blue paint, great pk, but those damn posts, several times. You say it like he's choosing post over goal.
We just have different pov's. I can live with that.
I agree on Tampa and deeper issues than Saad. - I Am The Breadman
Yes he’s been good this game in comparison to his previous ghost games. The Hawks just l allowed almost 40 SOG in one period, Saad isn’t this issue there. But, he had a chance to tie the game at 2 and does not finish. This is a results based industry. There are no points for “almost”. In the long run, you hope 20 builds off this game and they eventually start going in the net. Yet, he had a chance to change the game and didn’t, just like his breakaway miss earlier this year.
Hopefully Forsling is back soon. [img][/img] |

Good teams have bad performances all the time. The 2010 Hawks got slaughtered a bunch of times in the regular season. It didn't stop them from winning the Cup. This is one game in October on the 2nd night of a back to back(yes I know TB is as well) and they're having a bad game. But it's one game in October. When the Hawks outplayed teams and won in OT people said it was lucky. Not that they earned it. You can't have it both ways. |

As nice as it's been getting these points early in the season, they do need to be sellers at the trade dead line. Cats a nice building block so is Joki, but so many others they can trade, I'd even trade Schmaltz
I hate saying this but it probably be wise to bring in a new young coach for this team
Just yuck yuck yuck |

I understand you, and it's not disrespect, the game is measured by points. I just like focusing on the "intangibles" haha, and I'm trying to stay positive ...I'm having a hard time after that period. |

WOW are the Hawks terrible defensively. They can't clear the zone even when they have the puck on their stick. Every team knows the Hawks are weak so they challenge the puck all game long and the Hawks fumble it and make weak ass passes that are easily picked off. This is ridiculous how easy it is for Tampa to keep the puck in the zone and get shot after shot. It should be about 12-1.
Good thing this is a rebuilding year because I think we're going to see a lot of this kind of "defense" this season. |

I am sure you can find many times in 2010 when the Hawks allowed 100 shots total in back to back games. For 3 straight games they've been pretty much easily obliterated, Crow saved them one time. Last night they had FOUR hits. They can't defend, they are soft and have to completely rely on goal tender heroics or the occasional blowup games from 88 and a couple others.
It's pretty clear at worst this is a bottom feeder team, at best it's one in transition that simply lacks depth of talent.
Outside of that, comparing this group to that one (albeit I know you were not-at least I hope- saying the talent was comparable) is high comedy. |

I don't ever remember a team getting 30+ SOG in one period.....and they easily could have hit 40 but backed off with 5 minutes left.....felt sorry for the Hawks and their total embarrassment.
I can't wait to hear what management says about that period. Tampa is so much faster and more "relentless" it's frightening. Too bad because Saad is having his best game of the year. Everbody else was not only loafing but soft as Charmin....but that's Q's system....stick-check em to death.
Martinsen was the only guy that showed any toughness at all.
