I didn't get to see any of the game. 4-1. Kane got 2. FORTIN GOT A GOAL! Anyone recap the game for me, Crow, defense, any notes? - I Am The Breadman
Originally credited to 84 but they later changed it to Kruger -it wasn't exactly a gem - if that sort of stuff matters - just a zone entry and shot from around the top of the LW face off circle- with a guy draped on Kruger as sort of a screen on the move - looks to have hit Krugs on the way in -changed directions and Bob missed it.

[quote=BDT36]NO FORTIN DIDN’T! They gave it to Kruger, who tipped it in.
Damn and double damn. I love that the hawks won and goals are getting spread to the bottom lines ... I really wanted Fortin to get it, it was the winner!
Still, thank you for telling me. Also, thanks to Steve, post above, for the breakdown on the goal. I appreciate it. |

Seriously? Sure, a coach that is supposedly on the hot seat is gonna make a decision that can lose a game for him for the sole purpose of send the FO a message.....smh.
They are 7 games in. No messages being sent. Still feeling everyone out and trying to get the right mix with what he has. - TheTrob
Seriously can you thinks of a better reason to insert Knutiz on the top PP . It sure did not spark it ,came closer to a SH goal and the PK is only as good as Crow is .. ..But hey we did got the win .And Breadman was -4 with no points .. |

Warts and all the HAWKS go into CLB and steel 2pt's . Thank you Mr. Crawford , you look fantastic .
Really though Knutiz on the 1PP was a big middle finger to the Front office, just my MO ... So will Crow get the start tomorrow Hmmmm
GO HAWKS !!!!! - oldduffman
Good point on Kunitz. |

Kunitz and Manning can hit the waiver wire any time now. They are both useless, and we have better options available. |

Do you really like sounding this stupid???
I mean seriously - how does playing Kunitz give a middle finger to the front office??
THE FRONT OFFICE SIGNED HIM!!!!!!!
You remind me of Trump spewing - "The Socialists are coming for your Social Security!!!!"

Steady. Nothing flashy, but thought he played his game. Never going to be a big point producer from the blue line but a defensive defenseman. Thought he did well for his first game with the Hawks. Paired with Ruuta. |

Agreed. Bad thing, the Hawks do have "D" help on the way, but they are 1-3 years away! |

As I have said before Kunitz I believe was signed to appease coach Q .And even as Kunitz is playing terrible hockey Q runs him out there saying I will play WHO I want . IE middle finger .
Don't know why you have to hurl insults ,hope you don't talk to your hockey guy like that ,or does he talk to you .....
- oldduffman
Q is keeping Saad off the PP until he picks up his game. He could put Seabrook out there but other than that, there really isn't anyone else on the roster who is better. I'm not sure that's a middle finger, but I wish the front office would add some talent to the roster. Most of the guys who needed to step up their games this year have. Now it's time for the FO to add some pieces and see what can happen. Not saying mortgage the future, just saying an in-season upgrade would be good. Saad for Duchene maybe? |

Sometimes goalies need to come up big and Crawford did it tonight. Much better than when he was injured and it was more often goalies giving up bad goals to snowball into some awful games. - breadbag
I was thinking they lose this 5-1 without Crawford. |

I'm not against it entirely, but there are 3 big things. I don't want to lose Saad, but if he keeps getting jerked around, fine, he deserves better than how Q is handling the situation. Duchene will be a ufa at season's end, and if we are getting him, I want him retained at a reasonable cost and reasonable term, seeing as he will want a lot for long because he deserves it and it might be the last big one he gets, we might not be his best fit. And finally, Ottawa gave up an arm and a leg for him, I'm thinking they will want an arm and a leg back seeing as they are without a first round pick, probably Hughes, I don't really want the hawks paying that. |

Saw some bits of Corey 's post-game interview. His elocution is much more deliberate now. He looks great on the ice, which is something to be profoundly thankful for. But I would guess it was a very major concussion he suffered. |

Rockford won 5-3 last night with a nice win.
Terry Broadhurst has been great in his return. Colin Delia was strong as well to grab his 3rd straight win.
Their record is now 3-2-1. |

Not a chance. Ward would have pitched a shutout. (red font)
I realize he was hurt when the Athletic writers did their goalie rankings but they had him ranked like 15th. Wonder where the'd have him now?
When healthy I'm not sure how anyone would have him out of their top 3-5, but they still do. Remember reading another Athletic story where two anonymous GM's gave their opinions on him. One had him as one of the best in the league and another still regarded him as a product of his "great defense". |
