[quote=BDT36]NO FORTIN DIDN’T! They gave it to Kruger, who tipped it in.
Damn and double damn. I love that the hawks won and goals are getting spread to the bottom lines ... I really wanted Fortin to get it, it was the winner!
Still, thank you for telling me. Also, thanks to Steve, post above, for the breakdown on the goal. I appreciate it. - I Am The Breadman
No problem. I was in a silly mood when I posted that, hence the caps in the first sentence to match your enthusiasm, just so you know. Fortin made a really nice shot on that play. I told my son sitting with me, that’s why you put the puck on net. I wish he had gotten the goal too. |

The problem with the power play is Kane as weird as it is to say that. Every guy just looks to get it to him instead of making a pass to someone else or taking a shot. He is the best guy to ha e the puck but he just gets swarmed and the play is over. |

I had no clue how to take that, I thought you were anti-Fortin, like you were excited he didn't and gave me a nodding smiling head, which I deleted. It felt like it was rubbed in my face, haha. Glad to know it wasn't. |

Not a chance. Ward would have pitched a shutout. (red font)
I realize he was hurt when the Athletic writers did their goalie rankings but they had him ranked like 15th. Wonder where the'd have him now?
When healthy I'm not sure how anyone would have him out of their top 3-5, but they still do. Remember reading another Athletic story where two anonymous GM's gave their opinions on him. One had him as one of the best in the league and another still regarded him as a product of his "great defense". - HawkintheD
I've considered him in the category since 2013, but he's never
gotten the respect from NHL pundits that he deserves IMO.
Come the PO's I will always pick himas my number goalie above
any other in the NHL.

That should be Rinne/Quick to a T, especially Rinne w/out the
4 best dmen cough cough in the league he's be average at
best

By 3-5 you mean 3-5 on the Blackhawks right? Crawford is a $3 million goalie at best, Chris Osgood 2.0. Crawford has only every enjoyed success because of the defence in front of him. |

I didn't see the game (quick disclaimer, what freakin' Aurelio's does not have a damn tv on while there is a damn game on at the busiest damn time of the damn day?) Sorry, back to what I was saying.
I agree with you, and have picked up on it too. He's like Michael Jordan, the guy you put the whole team on because you know what he's capable of. As much damage as you want him to do on the pp, he's hurting it too. The guys look for him, he tries to be fancy, in his mind he can do it all, but he can't. One of the world's best hockey players isn't a secret to anyone, so the opp tries to make him a non-factor because all the passes for the perfect shot. Maybe find a different qb, other than Kane. |

Anybody else think the Joki stunk it up in the 1st period
but then got progressively better as the game went on,
the sign of a kid that want's it and will only get better
and better, he will eventually be a top 2 dman imo.

Rinna yes, Quick no. That Las Vegas series, how many were 1 goal games? When LA would play us, how many ot's? I will always hate LA for 14, but I respect Quick. Crow will always be number 1 in my book, and Quick right behind him. There's a reason why Chi and LA alternated cups. Awesome goaltenders. Always the number 1 stars in my book. |

That’s was never my assessment of Crawford. I’ve been a CC fan from the beginning and I knew he’d take the #1 role from Turco. I took lots of grief for my positive outlook. |

need to get this straight.
#50 has been the best and most consistently good if not great goalie in the league since 2013. He is the MVP of the hawks! Period!! He just wins and gives his team a chance every nights. My gawd how many odd mans, and breakaways has he seen in his 1st two games back. This team in front of him has no clue how to defend.
However we saw a pretty good defensive 3rd period yesterday...so they can do it.
I will take #50 during this time over Quick, Rinne, the overhyped, overpaid and often injured Price, Bobro (what a joke), Rask or Holtby. |

I'm not against it entirely, but there are 3 big things. I don't want to lose Saad, but if he keeps getting jerked around, fine, he deserves better than how Q is handling the situation. Duchene will be a ufa at season's end, and if we are getting him, I want him retained at a reasonable cost and reasonable term, seeing as he will want a lot for long because he deserves it and it might be the last big one he gets, we might not be his best fit. And finally, Ottawa gave up an arm and a leg for him, I'm thinking they will want an arm and a leg back seeing as they are without a first round pick, probably Hughes, I don't really want the hawks paying that. - I Am The Breadman
Wait...now Saad is getting "jerked around" and deserves "better"?
This is a guy that demanded 6mil from the Hawks - at the time he was a RFA - when it was clear the Hawks couldn't afford it. He forced their hand to either pay or trade him. He got his money he demanded.
Now, he was moved down in the CLB lineup (why?), and now the same here - after not producing to his 6mil dollar demanded cap hit - HE'S the one being "jerked around"???
Gotta love millennials. Poor Saad, the victim. #himtoo |

Ditto.
Afa playing defense in front of him I think they can too, but it's almost like they let up a bit cause they know Crow can bail them out...my take anyway.
Like a couple others have said too, I like the way Joker responded after a tough first period. Glad Q gave him some leash though it's not like he had a lot of choices. |

I never said he was worth 6 mil. Nice word choice in victim by the way. Going from the second line, to the fourth line, to a white shirt in practice, to a pair of different fourth liners is consistency then? You're right, no jerking around at all.
Q and Torts are some of the toughest customers in the business. Justin even wrote in the blog he doesn't like how Q is handling the situation.
Frankly, I hate all other millenials. |

you got that right..he got paid but he was productive with CBJ in terms of goals and points...but since coming back here looks like he could care less:
89 games, 18 goals, 19 assist with 1 pp goal: thats 37 points in 89 games.
since scoring 6 goals to open the season last year he has scored 12 goals with 17 assists in 83 games since...29 points

Saad refused a bridge deal. He wanted the big boy contract. Demanded big $$ and long term. He got his wish. With that, he cant just show up and go through the motions.
Maybe HE should stop jerking around the team and show up and produce...I dont knows...every game?
Maybe Q, Stan, and the people that pay him big $$ to produce dont like the way Saad is handling his play now that he got paid? And Saad needs to "handle the situation better" by doing something other than sucking and crying like a baby that "he doesnt know why he's on the fourth line"?
If he wants to know why, they should hand him his contract to review, and the video of his last 90 games or so. And anyone else confused or that doesnt understand, can sit right next to him.

Saw some bits of Corey 's post-game interview. His elocution is much more deliberate now. He looks great on the ice, which is something to be profoundly thankful for. But I would guess it was a very major concussion he suffered. - 35Tony0
Thought it was just me. Both interviews since he came back have seemed much more stilted. He's never an fast-talking, flowery guy, but finding the words seemed to be harder for him than before. |
