Although the Flyers defense (including the forwards) has been underwhelming to say the least, it seems like Folin has really struggled. Nothing against the guy, but he just hasn't played well overall.

Assuming AMac returns and plays relatively well, do you think that Folin would be the replacement if a defenseman lands on the IR, or would the Flyers think about recalling Myers? Obviously, Myers himself has to stay healthy, but it seems like this is his year to take the next step.

If it was me, I'd rather have Folin be a one or two game fill in, at best. Otherwise, I think Folin's proper role is Cote Suite Ombudsman.

Any long term injury to a defenseman, I'd rather have a guy like Myers called up.

He's been a scratch with the Lightning.

Through a combination of spotty team defense and erratic goaltending -depending on the game -- the Flyers' have yielded 4.13 goals per game thus far to rank 30th defensively. Only Detroit (4.38 GAA) has hemorrhaged more opposing goals per game thus far.

The problem is that the coach is comfortable with Folin because he knows exactly what he is getting, a bad hockey player who does very little, if anything, competently.

Myers is an unknown quantity in the nhl at this point. The Flyers go out and ice the team each night they think can win the hockey game. It’s way too big of a risk to suit up Myers. It doesn’t matter what his pedigree is or long term outlook or his skill set is. That’s all gobblity gunk. The coach’s job is to ice the team that he thinks can win the next game.
