So a team full of Lehteras can be a fast team as long as they move their feet and make good passes? But a team full of TK's would be slow if they don't? - Buzzo

(frank) sakes. Giroux....Shame Hagg doesn't have better speed (not his fault tho). - VladDrag
Provorov....same position as Hagg. I am really not trying to the Hagg savior, but its amazing how scapegoat fever works.
No one is mentioning Provorov or Ghost's horrible play this game, but freeeeeeee pass. |

Yes, you can offset a lack of speed with good puck movement, but please, if you can’t see that this team needs to upgrade in the skating department, then I just give up. - BiggE
While I don’t agree with all the individual player analysis above your point is legit. Speed is something the Flyers could use an upgrade in.

It doesn’t look at all like the flyers didn’t come to play or aren’t moving their feet or much of anything else. The Avs are sharper, quicker in foot and team speed, they are getting a stick on the flyers to deflect most of their opportunities. They are quicker and the flyers right now and a couple weeks ago don’t have any answers for them - Just5
The Flyers played a terrible first and we're not prepare to skate. The second period their positioning was terrible. Quite a few times in the offensive zone pressure was nullified by guys standing still and not giving the player with the puck a lame to pass the puck.
The Flyers many times when they do shoot do from poor angles and pass from more dangerous areas.

You can quibble over individually players, but thank you for seeing what is, to me, obvious: this team lacks speed. |

So we have the Avs hemmed in for a long period of time and we throw Lehtera out there to take the pressure off. Brilliant coaching. |

For the first time I believe that Hakstol doesn't last past the middle of November.
Even though they just scored a goal, I don't think Hak has any control of this team or the room. The leadership group is ineffective, and when that happens its up to the coach to make them effective.
Too many slow starts. They execute the system like a beer league team playing twice a month on Thursdays. Too many important young players have taken a step back so far this season.
This team need a Keenan type coach. They need someone to crack the whip on them hard and often. Someone who will bench a guy for not back checking no matter how much they make. Benching a guy who makes a stupid pass and turns the puck over. Benching a guy whose lazy play fails to make a clear.
Plays like that dumb pass by Sanheim just now which results in a 2 on 1 the other way. |

It’s not that they are slow, it’s just that they move their feet slowly and then move slowly. |

If that is the type of coach needed to get this core group to play consistent I’d rather they trade away the core.
Coaches like that don’t have a place in today’s game and when they do get a shot, it’s a fast burn out.

It's not the coach, it's the universe. When someone plays good, someone else has to balance the force by playing bad.

I only say Hagg because he was closer at the start, Provy was too far away. Also, I said there was no blame to Hagg. If it's Ghost or Sanheim (or Myers) you have a shot to stop him. |

This core has been through 3 coaches now. Hate to say it but I don't think a new coach alone will save this team.
If the start to the season is indicative of the year they're going to have it's time to seriously consider a major retooling. |
