Per Bill's Twitter, Hak's quote on Vorobyev:
- VladDrag

That's a hard trade-off right now. Misha's a young player. He needs to keep improving his game working during practice, as well as watching during games. That was one of the benefits of him watching what a couple of centermen are doing, and how he can assimilate some of those things into his game. There comes a point of time where he needs to go back into the lineup. We're not going to make a change today. That would unfair to the players that were in the lineup [on Saturday]. We want to get him back in the lineup, but he will get back in, and when he does, he's no different than anyone else. He has to compete to a level to hold that position. ...It's not his compete, but the consistency of it. It's something where, every player always thinks he's working hard. Misha is a competitive person but I believe the consistency of his play in all three zones can elevate.

Folin will undoubtedly be a rock on the second pair as always.

Luckily Sanhiem won't be seeing more than 15 minutes tonight, he's just a rookie. He's been shaky anyway.

I know Morin has been skating but apparently he took the ice today in full equipment. Not sure if first time?

Allison still hasn't got in a proper NCAA game after hurting his ACL in January.

I have no problem with a scratch of a young player, or limiting his ice time in the 3rd, or moving him around the lineup. But he needs to get in the game, sooner rather than later. It does nothing for his confidence to sit in the pressbox for more than a week. He either needs game time here or in the AHL as the top center down there.

There's nothing to freak out about. He will only sit for a game or two at most.

I don't see that. Hakstol coaches to try and win games, like every coach does. That's his main job.

Anton Forsberg is on waivers. Maybe 4th goalie will do better?

I dont know that I agree with that.
He coaches aiming to do what he was tasked which and that is to win games I would imagine.

It’s pretty common to do what Hakstol is doing across professional sports. It’s known as nutless monkey syndrome.

Basically it makes you more marketable when unemployed.

Most ownership groups are risk averse. Why do you think guys like Norv Turner have had a career in the nfl for years and years and years with so many different teams?

It becomes a good old boys club, and the only prerequisite for entry is to not rock the boat. Not too much anyway.

Someone please explain to me how Hakstol Coaches so wonderfully! When we’re down by two or three, do you see any kind of Urgency to Rally the troops?

Does he juggle lines in this situation? Does he call time outs? What exactly does Hakstol show you in an important game that he does what it takes to win?

Call me crazy, 5 on 5 I'm probably giving Sanhiem and Gudas first pairing minutes until the other pairs get clear out of their funks/players get healthy. They've earned it.

I think since you're into telling people what they should do, I think you should re-read what I posted and what I actually said.
- MJL

You said If they play consistently defensive in front of him Elliott will be fine. I disagree with that statement I don't think he will be fine, he has been a mess so far as has Pickard and the defense has not been that bad. I merely stated you have to stop blaming the defense for his shortcomings hardly telling you what to do. Again my opinion and your opinion we disagree. I guess we will see what happens as the year progresses.

Your previous post called me out for what Elliott has done in past games this season when clearly I was talking about future games. Your description of what I've been doing is inaccurate.

Pickard has been awful. Elliot has been average and the D has not been good. Elliot has been fine most games. A lot of the goals against the D has been embarrassed and allowed the opponent to go in alone on him. In San Jose it was 60 mins of deflections\Rebounds\tap-ins. Flyers I am willing to bet lead the league in 2 on 1s against. Elliot is not going to stand on his head for us. We get that but he gives us a chance to win games. The D IMO is playing the way Pickard has played for us.

I really would love to see what Konecny could do saddled on a top line, with top line minutes all season.

Sigh.

Sounds great, but he started the season there and basically didn't do much. Now playing with Weal and Lindblom, now looks like the kid the Flyers want.

So because he is getting hot now with other players you want to see what he can do with players he didn't do much with earlier?
