not wining last night really put a damper on all of my plans.
Had to tell my boss I un-quit
Had to revoke my offer on a multi million dollar house.
Have to hide from my dealer now because I cant pay him.
Had to cancel my retirement party. - ImThatGuy

I agree! If this team really wants to push for the playoffs, they need 10 of 14 points here! |

A McDavid contract in 3 years would be over 14m....but ya, I could see 18-20m for the two. - Lunaion
Personal opinion: Those quotes are insane for 3 years from now.
Dahlin isn't going to make 10m on his first contract most likely and Casey, at this rate, will be taking a bridge deal. If Skinner wants 8 we should trade him at the TDL for sure. Samson isn't breaking 4M if he doesn't pick it up.
Not every good player we have is going to need an 8M+ contract. If we do, it's because we've already ended the Stanley Cup drought IMO. |

The 4 games against the Habs and Sens will be huge for the division. |

That's pretty much my thinking, especially on Dahlin. If he's a $12M per player on his first deal, it means he's at a McDavid level, or close. |

They need to go on a winning streak. Not sure what we'll see against Montreal. I have a feeling with this being such a young team that it could be a stinker. They haven't played well Thursdays thus far.
I hope they prove me wrong. |

And no reason why they can't lose 3 of those 4. Both those teams have more goals than Buffalo in one less game. Montreal is 5-1-2 with two wins against the Pens and an OT loss to Toronto. Ottawa is 4-3-1 and beat the Leafs, Dallas and the Habs with Price in net. Both teams are doing better than expected, and I certainly don't see it lasting all season, but I wouldn't mark them down as wins yet. |

I think he could be the one exception that does explode for us and become an expensive piece...but right now, that simply isn't the case.
We have options too: bridge deals, shipping out Okposo/Berglund, the cap going up, buyouts, developing players on ELCs...we aren't boxed. The cap is the least of my worries right now.
I have the 4 players being worth about 25M, which means we'd be tight, but that extra 5M is a big deal difference. If they make that, it's because we have watched some GREAT hockey next year and the year after. |

If we are for real....we need to go at least 5-2. All of these games are 100% winnable.

Stone's going to get a lot of interest and a big 7 year deal. If we're in on him, great. Seems like a long shot though.
Frankly, I'm fine with simply re-signing Skinner, making all of our picks in the draft this year, and not making any significant long term signing. Likely need some kind of trade on D, depending on how prospects develop. - Lunaion
That is a good plan. |

The Kings game was fun to watch
That was probably the best I have seen the Sabres play since 2010
I would like to see them get on a little roll here and win the next few as well |

Ducks game was good too.
That's what I am hoping for as well. We play some beatable teams for the next stretch, their results from these next 7-10 games will be very telling. |

If they can go 7-3, 6-3-1, 5-3-2 that would be a good push
Theses next few games are against teams they need to beat and should be especially if they want to be a playoff team |

IMO, this is a .500 club. any stretch of games should be looked at as .500 with some good and some ugly.
Playoffs are a stretch IMO. They won 25 games last year. About 35-38 Wins is where I put them which is a massive improvement.
38-34-10.
