We should hold off on listing 50 as his low end, when it's actually his career high
- sbroads24

Right, no way of knowing if he continues to get top line and 1st unit PP minutes as this team improves.

Which ones are which?

Hunwick was a favor. Wilson is hurt, and Sheary plays a good role.

My point was that JB doesn't seem to have a bias like Murray obviously did.

JB looks for value.

- sbroads24

Hunwick might be a favor, but he makes way too much for a, even for this team, 7th defenseman.

I like Sheary, that's fine.

And Wilson, while not costing much(unless you ask Homie, we know how he values those late picks) is still not good.

I don't care that he's making deals for players he knows, the deals are what they are. A late round pick for a 3rd/4th line player and a couple mids for a solid guy and a cap dump. It's just funny that Murray had one trade for 2 players and Botterill has 2, so far, for 3 players.

Id settle for an uptick in primary production, especially at 5v5. 16 last year, just 1 in 9 this year.

Edit: he was 9th worst of any forward with 1000 mins or more.

- Sabresfan-365

I completely agree with you, I would like to see more 5 v 5 scoring also from him too. I just can't stand when fans start female dogging a player because of his draft status or the money he makes. That has been brought up too many times within our fan base... Those two things the player has really no control in...

You gotta be kidding, right?

I thought Reinhart had a nice game last night, but he was absolutely invisible up until then. Like he’s been for LONG stretches every year he’s been a full time Sabre.

When Mittelstadt is 22 and that keeps happening, he will get the exact same treatment.

I mean my god, Casey at 18 put up 5 points in 6 games at 18.

Reinhart put up a near goose egg and got sent back to juniors

This isn’t all narrative. It’s reality

- sbroads24

Sure, but Mittelstadt had an entire season before he played his first NHL game, would Sam have been better at the very end of his first post-draft year? Maybe, maybe not. It's not a good comparison. Mittelstadt had 2 secondary assists, and we all know how they are just given out like candy, so can we really count those? And he scored on the PP, so that DEFINITELY doesn't count.

Kaiser's not wrong, it's more about one's narrative than the facts. People female dog that Sam's not tough, when was the last time you saw Jack mix it up?

Would you take 15 goals and 45 helpers?

Jack is tough to deal with with the puck on his stick, the same can’t be said for Sam.

Absolutely.

Right now he's owning the area behind and to the right of the net. It's working great.

The value of him in front of the net is also incalculable. The Risto goal doesn't happen without Reinhart's screen.

It frustrates a lot of people to have a 2nd overall pick perform like a 22nd overall pick. This doesn't mean Reinhart isn't good, just that fans feel let down. it's understandable.

Now, now, only points matter to us.. We will give Sam no credit for standing in front of the net and providing a perfect screen so the goal goes in..

But he is the 3rd best offensive player in the 2014 draft...

It is almost November, forgive me for starting a few days early...

Wr FA's
1. Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants
2. Brandin Cooks, Los Angeles Rams
3. Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings
4. Golden Tate, Detroit Lions
5. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

...

- IonSabres

Man, I don't know, I have little to no confidence in them identifying offensive talent. I would be surprised if they signed anyone even at Beasley's level.

He is what he is. There's no use getting mad at him. I wish he were faster, but he's still a good player. I think he tops out at 55-60 points.

This is also the 5th season since he was drafted, time to get over where he was drafted. As has been stated, he is who he is. We might continue to see incremental improvement like we have, and end up with a really good player, but I doubt he's going to bust out and become a superstar, though you never know.

He's 5th and in any even he's played significantly more games than the guys he's ahead of right now. For example, I doubt anyone would take Reinhart of Willy Nylander.

Reinhart is an excellent net-front presence. His screening ability is elite, and his tipping skill is above-average/great. His passing ability from behind the net is uncanny. Most goals are scored within 10 feet of the net in the NHL, and he is very good/great in that area.

And with all that being said it equals a 45 point player.

Nothing to turn your nose at, but the “People think he sucks because he isn’t Jack” narrative is getting old.
