Reinhart is an excellent net-front presence. His screening ability is elite, and his tipping skill is above-average/great. His passing ability from behind the net is uncanny. Most goals are scored within 10 feet of the net in the NHL, and he is very good/great in that area.

Just a matter of time till Rino, Erod and Middlingstats get on the board.

And with all that being said it equals a 45 point player.

Nothing to turn your nose at, but the “People think he sucks because he isn’t Jack” narrative is getting old.

- sbroads24

He's only scored less than 45 in 1 year, his rookie year.

I don't think the book is written on him yet. He has (marginally) improved his point totals every year. When all is said and done, I see him consistently north of 50, and maybe hitting 60-65 on a good year with a good team

You're being way too generous here. Years of bad hockey have made people forget how good average is in the NHL.

Read Twitter. Mittelstadt is a bust because some people picked him for the Calder over Petterson, which made some twitter people upset.

So therefore, Mitts=Garbage

Well what did u expect reading Twitter?

If you had to pick a name, who is the prototypical "average" NHL forward?

Almost the end of October and we are not out of the playoff hunt! Woo hoo!

I cannot wait for expectations to be high but for now games like last night are a treat.

- LandlordTom

We have an easy-ish stretch coming up too
Toughest games in the next 8 are CBj & CGY
Also, MTL & OTT twice each, NYR & VAN

We should be able to get around 10 of the next 16pts if we keep playing well

It has been. Since year 2. He is who he is.

My opinion of course.

That works, but I was thinking more of, if you looked at the entire NHL and said "that's the definition of average," who is it?

Sam had another pretty set-up to Okposo on the PP.
It would be huge if he would get going on 5v5 playing with Mitts and Sheary on the 2nd line.

He is cruising along at a 45 pt pace...he needs to pick it up, and pick it up soon to contribute the full season. It would be nice if Botts could work in monthly incentives into Sams next contract to get him uber motivated all season long.

Pommer can stay on Jack's wing until he shows he is running out of gas.
Then throw Okposo there to see if his game can get re-ignited.

ERod deserves to play in the top 9 for sure. 3C with Bergy and ? Is the question. Does Tage stay up, or do they give Bustlander or Olofsson a look-see?

- IonSabres

I might be a little harsh on Berglund here,
but he can stay on line4
Girgs-Larsson-Berglund
That line actually played well

When Pommer runs outta gas,
maybe give Berglund a shot on Jack’s wing to see if that can get him scoring?

Okposo works well, decent at everything, exceptional at nothing. A fairly boring middle 6 player at this point. Probably someone closer to dead center average, but I imagine you just want to make a point about Sam....so close enough.

Reinhart fooled me at the end of last year. He looks like the same passive, perimeter player he's been. I think he was just a little lucky last year

Do you think that's Reinhart? It's fair if you do, but I think he has (Liam neeson voice) "a certain set of skills" that elevates him beyond average.

There's little average about Sam. Pretty much everything is either above or below. Overall, I think he's above average.

I'm impressed that he's become an effective net front guy, without the typical net front guy skill set. His vision and passing set him apart. When it comes to typical net front guy skills (physical net front presence, rebounds, winning battles, etc.), we see better pretty much every night. Sam's effective by doing it a little differently.
