There’s been legit nhl sources saying the ownership group of the Flyers are putting pressure on Hexy to replace Hak if results don’t come. - VladDrag
Which legit sources?

Well it is Comcast, so their reaction to the problem will be an unreasonable amount of time after actually acknowledging the problem just to tell you a wire was loose.

This is a 9 game stretch. Last season the team improved by 10 points over 82 games and finished in the top 3 in a tough Metro division. - MJL
They were 2points from not making the PO and out in the first round again. They were a bubble team which is what they were when Hexy started 5 years ago and is what they are now. |

Just a rumor but I've heard it in two places, Chicago may let Joel Q walk after season. I have no sense of his style but he is a proven cup winner. - cdearth23
Would snap him up in a second |

You also have to take into account they maintained being a bubble team while rebuilding as well. This team is getting where they need to be. An upgrade in goal, a few pieces to cut loose and time is what is needed for the Flyers to make the next step. It takes time for youth to learn, we dont have a McDavid or a Crosby on this team that will immediately be a superstar and dominate the league. This applies to the following players:
Konecny
Lindblom
Patrick
Provorov
Sanheim
Hagg
Weal(a stretch)
Ghost
Misha
That is close to half the line up. and 2/3 of our D |

When he’s healthy, and gets on a roll, he can carry a team. However, you know it just won’t last for long |

What I stated was factual. They lost to the Cup champs and a better team. The Flyers missed the playoffs the season before that. Like I said, this is 9 games. They obviously need to play better. It's a long season.

Speculation is that Lindblom may be the one sitting and Weal still in on the 3rd line. Weal, Lindblom, Vorobyev and Simmonds all in green today. |
|
|
|
Just got to say this about the potential Lindblom scratch...I would much rather see a 4th line of Lindblom-Lehtera-Knight than have Lindblom sit. It would be a mistake. I understand keeping Weal with Vorobyev. Although Lindblom is a top 9 forward, there is nothing in his skill set to say he can’t be effective on the 4th line. In other words, it is not the same as Weal being locked in to the top 9 or out. Lindblom can battle and has good defensive awareness. He is in fact better than some of our other 4th liners, and it would be a waste for him to sit. Nothing wrong with the fit either.

Not a great schedule for a team that's lost the plot. Arizona and LA aren't good either, but the Flyers usually struggle to beat them on the road.
at BOS
vs NYI
at ANA
at LAK
at SJS
at ARZ - Feanor
Tough sched. Similar to last year, we have a front loaded west sched. Sjs Ana and the kings normally terrorize us. Maybe we beat the kings but the other two are losses. Need points vs zona and nyi. Then hope the team goes on a run vs the east to make up ground like last year. |

Weal needs to clean up the penalties but other than that has been playing well.

The PK might go from 30th to 31st without Raffl. Devastating!
How much closer to a Stanley Cup are the Flyers now, then when Hextall took over? |

I think the point is as bad as it is, the Flyers have still won 4 games, 2 by one goal (the Devils game was 3-2 with 2 empty nets). a worse PK could result in an additional goal against per game. So while they can only drop one spot giving up more goals could be the difference between a win and a loss. |

The need to have plugs play on the 4th line and bottom d pairing is easily the most infuriating part of the Hakstol era for me. Really it is the Hextall era, because I don't think the idea comes solely from the coaching staff. |

The simplest way to attempt to improve the pk was to get a fresh voice and
perspective. If that decision can't be made correctly what would give you
any faith that you can trust this regime? |
