The need to have plugs play on the 4th line and bottom d pairing is easily the most infuriating part of the Hakstol era for me. Really it is the Hextall era, because I don't think the idea comes solely from the coaching staff. - YuenglingJagr
It falls on both. Hextall sets the roster, Hakstol sets the lineup and delpoyment. |

Gudas and Sanheim are plugs? - MJL
Yes, these are obviously the 2 players he's referring to who have been in the lineup throughout Hakstol's entire time as head coach. |

Yeah, I know, and I am sure they work together on it to an extent. It is just a pretty simple change in philosophy that would go a long way. There isn't even an excuse about the young guys not being ready now. |

As long as Dori Weisetehra anchors the 4th line, I'm fine with whatever. |

Agreed. He doesn't slowly skate up and down the ice in a straight line consistently enough.
Also, he prefers to carry the puck into the zone as opposed to dumping and chasing, which is a surefire way to get his ass put in the press box. |

The simplest way to attempt to improve the pk was to get a fresh voice and
perspective. If that decision can't be made correctly what would give you
any faith that you can trust this regime? - PLindbergh31
I don't disagree with maybe needing a new perspective. |

Oh, but there is
Remember when I was all up in arms over Vorobyev getting scratched and outside of our favorite board apologist of course I got a chorus of "it's only one game relax" but I was also pissed because I knew full well it wasn't going to be just one game? Yeah. Took an injury for this coach to even think about getting him back in. |

The PK might go from 30th to 31st without Raffl. Devastating!
How much closer to a Stanley Cup are the Flyers now, then when Hextall took over? - PLindbergh31
Yes but theres a huge difference between 70% kill percentage and 25-50%. Only an idiot cant see that it can get a lot worse.... |

Agreed. What is the reasoning? He was/is the 3rd best LW on the team. He's healthy. Weal has played well, minus the recent rash of penalties, but I 've thought his games,at center were better than his one or two on wing.
Weal takes any more penalties and it will be called a spree. |

Matt Belesky anyone? Rumored to be heading to waivers. Buried in AHL last 2 plus years. Brings jam. Might be decent on 4th line but we do have enough of those guys. He would be tough checker and will drop gloves. |

When this team needed a jolt last year, Hexy brought Goulbourne up for that stretch. Can't believe we don't have someone on the roster that is willing to go out there and lay a big hit to get the boys going. |
