OJ and Hughes shouldn't be rushed of course but chances are Hughes is NHL-ready next season and with OJ's progression possibly him as well. If not then it's more time in Utica.

Circling the drain with Tanev/Edler makes no sense. The longer we hold on to them and coddle their injuries the quicker teams will be to dismiss a trade. Get them healthy, showcase and trade. Pump and dump baby.

I think Benning is confused about the differences between Canada and the US. He is constantly doubling and adding 30, to like everything. Alzner would have gotten 10 years at $5.9m per in Vancouver.

So far I have been underwhelmed by his coaching strategies, he is obviously learning like many new coaches, but his penchant for playing favourites, and his line combinations I personally am not a fan of.

As head coach he also shoulders the blame for the underwhelming assistants

This team lacks offensive depth, decent defensive depth, after Edler and Tanev and very little grit.
At least the goaltending has been fairly consistent.

I was actually encouraged at some of the personnel moves that Green started with, but he hasn't continued on with them. Eriksson should be treated in the same fashion as Gagner, at this point I would rather Gagner over Eriksson, but realistically I don't want either playing.

Eriksson played over 18 mins while the only guys really showing any emotion, (Virtanen, Schaller, Guadette, Grandlund, Archibald) only 8-14.

I think injuries have forced his hand a bit. LE was put on the Sutter line after a few games, but once EP went down – and now BB and Baer – he has had to move some guys around. Agreed some of the others could have used more minutes, but maybe TG was trying to get him going with the absence of some of the people?

This is a decent read on Loui. Ignore his contract and he is ok. At $1MM per he would be good value as a shutdown winger. I hate him, but our team sucks and sadly we don’t have better alternatives.
