No, just no. Mitchell is definitely a no-go. I might be wrong but I think he is going to be a stud. I think he is going to be better than Jokesonyou. And I am really liking Jokiharju. - Elbows15
Ok then Mitchell is off the table

Did I really read people complaining about Schmaltz facial expressions? - Elbows15
It was reprehensible! Q needs to send a message and send little Nicky to RFD. |

That would never get Nylander. Murphy is poop so a 2nd isn't nearly enough. - GPHawksfan
Add Forsberg seeing how they lost two goalies to waivers. |

As it’s been widely reported, Hurricanes have been extremely high on William Nylander for a while. Talks have been back and forth lately. @NHL_AaronWard reporting Leafs GM Dubas at Sharks/Canes tonight. |

Just saw that Cornelison will be again singing for the Indy 500. What do people see in him? He has definitely regressed this year - terrible. |

Whoa now, brosef. I've been rooting for Fortin the whole time.
Ooooh wait, Johnson was your guy ....
I'm sorry, but 7 or so o zone penalties, not good. I like his speed, I will give him that. |

The Hunter brothers in London will make this kid an NHL player. (And if Stanbo requests it, Dale will teach him plenty of his filthy on ice dirty tricks too). |

A bunch of random thoughts based on catching up on the past few pages of comments:
1) Don't trade Mitchell. He has top 4 skill just like Jokiharju, Boqvist, and Beaudin.
2) I wouldn't trade for Athanasiou if we have Fortin. They're both speedy wingers who bring disruptive offense and can play middle 6.
3) May be in the minority with this but if it's between having Schmaltz and Nylander, I prefer to have Schmaltz. Both are 60 point players who can play top 6. Schmaltz is a good back checker who is only going to get better with experience. Always been good with takeaways. And as much debate there is about the fear of overpaying him, Schmaltz could be relatively more affordable than Nylander who I believe asked for $9 million. |

I feel like this kid has the skill, it is just a matter of when he is an NHL player. Glad to see him off to a decent start in the OHL. |

Great thoughts, AEL. Totally agree on point 3 and lIke your take on the comparison. 9 schmil .... my eyes popped out of my face like a cartoon. I knew he wanted a lot, but come on. |

Yeah, that was the number I heard as well. If they give him close to that, then what are they going to have to pay Matthews and Marner...especially after just paying Taveres. Not to mention Jake Gardiner will be UFA too and probably will get more than his current 4 mil per year. Leafs have to be careful they don't get locked into extreme cap hell IMO. They have some other RFA's that will be coming off their ELC. It will be interesting to see. |

Where's O.O. with the Leafs cap page and the laughing face? This is his cue.
Maybe not tonight, we have won 2 in a row, no reason to be cheered up. |

So I know Schmaltz is playing well at wing right now, but do you think a Fortin Schmaltz Sikura third line ever happens? |

He is not playing wing. Johnson is just taking FOs but Schmaltz is the de facto center. |

Be patient with Johnson. Kid has played 4 NHL games. He needs the game to slow down for him a bit. He's smart. Tough.
I really want to see a line of Kampf,Kruger and Johnson. Given a few games together they could become a vg shutodwn line. |

Who do you have with Schmaltz and Fortin? Sikura, Highmore ...? Just saw Soft Serve asking similar question. I want to know too, haha.
I will be okay with that 4th line as long as Q keeps Krugs as the center. |

For now? Kampf. Last year in the AHL playoffs Edsjell was scoring the goals but it was Highmore and Kampf doing all the dirty work. Eventually Sikura should slot in with those two nicely. |
