So here we go 1 point in 2 games, oh but they're tired, blah blah blah, let the enabling begin - BetweenTheDots
I know it. Oil had a game last night too. |

To top off this crappy loss Boqvist got concussed again in his last game. - GPHawksfan
Can this get any worse?
Kid already had a concussion or two. |

The post game interviews are a joke they say one thing but they do the opposite on the ice
If the current pp players not willing to put the puck on net, sit them down next forward up |
|

I just don't understand when Gusto enters the zone not one forward recognizes this 2 on 1 the other way - BetweenTheDots
100% agreed! Bad recognition to along with bad rotation on the forwards.

The thing is he's in front of all 3 forwards, maybe they don't know how to read numbers or remember them, the awareness or the lack of it is disturbing |

Unfortunately, the preferential treatment of the vets extends to decisions on PP. No matter what, as long as Q is here, I think we'll see Keith on the PP and we'll see the same general pass around the perimeter scheme.

|
Yeah, he shouldn't be out there with Kane on a 3-on-3. Not a good mix of skills. - pdx2ord
100% agreed but don't pin it on him as Toews rightfully changed and Kane stayed on I believe Joker came on for Keith. |

No way this organization will admit to the fact this team has too many holes to compete. I worry they'll botch the TDL if the Hawks do in fact fall out of contention, which I expect they will at some point. There are some great players here and some good youngins, but the team is barren after years of salary cap attrition, poor GM moves, age and the natural progression of other teams |

Not blaming him, just coaching decision on this particular OT. Think Gus was out there for Keith, not Joki. |

Joki, with his play tonight, earned time on the ice in ot. |

I always said the Hawks were great in the glory days not because of the stars, but because of the supporting cast. YES, with 81, 19, 88, 4, 7, etc...the Hawks would have always been good, but ONLY WHEN YOU put boys like Bolland, Ladd, Brouwer, Madden, Oduya, and others in support roles THEN you have a chance at a Cup. Now, the Hawks have elite stars and training wheels players or borderline NHLers...the Hawks played a game tonight with 1 forward and 2 D-men who would probably not even play for 20 other teams. There's your trouble. |

Blackhawks looked a bit tired tonight. At least they got the point. Heading to western Canada starting Wednesday for three games in four days and then four days off. It'd be nice to get at least four points out there. - matt_ahrens
For sure as there is no way Toews is keeping/matching up with CM all game and especially 3v3 OT and it showed. Yes, there are very few that can keep up with CM if any. |

6 wins and 6 losses. Why is Saad on the ice over Schmaltz and Cat? The guy can’t finish. - EnzoD
When a team has a bottom of the league PP in the NHL they don't ever create separation on the scoreboard and end up playing tight games every night with many going to OT. And they will lose about 50% of those 3 on 3 sets. That's the Blackhawks.8 |
|
|
|
What is comes down to, is the Hawks handed the Oilers a 3 on 1 which included the best offensive player in the NHL. Saad trying to drive the net isn't an issue. The mishandle that gave Edmonton that chance was the problem tonight. - breadbag
100% agreed! Most are saying its Saad's fault but he actually got the put to Kane who tried to pass it to Gus or Joker whoever came on for Keith; that puck got picked off with a tired Kane and Saad 200 ft away.

They are - and! IMO, will continue to be - a .500 team.
6 wins 6 losses - 3 and 3 in regulation, 3 and 3 in the OT. |

I don’t like two Hawks down low, one passing the puck out - if it’s intercepted with CM on the ice - as it was - it’s probably the end.
Second guessing perhaps, but Kane should have stayed high (or gone off) wi Th so many white sweaters around. |

If Saad had a clear path to drive the net - then fine, but he didn't. McDavid was taking away his strong side and angling him off the net. Saad didn't even get a weak shot on net which is all he could have gotten on that play. Granted the other two guys out there with Saad could have played it better but they wouldn't have had to if Saad didn't make his possession losing play.
