Modern hockey viewing is just looking at puck possession chartsand total shots heat maps that some guy made and is nice enough to share on twitter

Especially in maths.

it's not just math scores that set Quebec apart. If Quebec were an independent country, it would rank in the top five in the world for its students' science scores

I actually wrote my Masters dissertation on salaries in the NHL, so I read a lot of fancy stats stuff. Too bad Vollman got hired by the kings, he wrote interesting books

Hard to say, English is way too easy in French/public high schools, so you would imagine the scores in Québec to outpace Ontario's, but I believe OECD looks at First language scores. So in that aspect, Ontario definitely wins as French is a completely different animal to the rather simple English language.

I know that Québec is the best (in Canada) when it comes to bilinguism though. That being said, Europeans put us to shame, it's crazy how many trilinguals+ there are. They are really fortunate to learn so many languages at school.

Started Spanish at the end of my Bachelor's but I've lost most of it since I haven't practiced much

Maybe where you are from, but it's atrocious up here. I'm sure attendance is worth 100% of the grade at the nearest polyvalente

What I mean is that the matter taught is too easy and thus as you say the grades are "inflated" (no not arbitraged this time Pete) compared to other class subjects.

I agree with that. French classes aren't any good in english school. 5 years of just conjugation.

I have trouble writing a sentence in french (too) but i know all 72 tenses

Yeah they're teaching vocabulary instead of how to communicate. You need to know a bunch of words before being able to communicate, but clearly those classes are not built towards improving communication skills.
