Im expecting a moment of silence for sure.

The obvious big fish is Karlsson . Canucks would need to be the highest bid to convince him to come here , but I would take the chance.
To replace what Edler is currently bringing I would target Benn who you could sign for 3 years at 2 mil
Jake Gardner is younger and has more of a scoring upside.
This is why I want to see what Hutton brings in the next few weeks. - VANTEL
I'll start the hate before the game even starts.

That is because you think Edler is a super star . Sorry mini van he is a decent Defensive player only . Get over it . Soon as he starts skating with the puck up the ice me and 5 million other people know a back pass is coming. He has zero creativity.
You want to pay 5 mil for a Dman with no offensive upside ? Now that is really (frank)ed.

You want to pay 2 million to a defender who can't defend or play offence.

Yeah because one player has been playing top 4 for his entire career vs a guy who has played for a bunch of team because he's a simple 3rd pairing player.
Just look at the difference in stats. First pairing minutes vs 3rd pairing minutes. Of course he is paid more. He's WAY (frank)EN BETTER
It literally isn't even about play with you. It's literally about money that isn't yours. |

The scribe writes that while Gardiner has expressed his desire to remain with Toronto long-term and general manager Kyle Dubas has met up with Gardiners’ representative, Pat Brisson, it’s likely that Gardiner will have to wait until the contracts of Nylander, Matthews and Marner are finalized, which could edge him out if those players don’t take hometown discounts. Regardless, after Nate Schmidt signed for $5.95MM AAV a few days ago, Gardiner could get quite a bit more on the open market especially with so few quality blueliners available on the free agent market next season. He might be able to command $7MM per year. However, he will likely have to take less than $6MM if he wants to remain in Toronto. |

Edler and Tanev both need to go at TDL if they are healthy. Get what you can for them and move on.
OJ and Hughes are gonna be running this ship soon don't need Edler and Tanev's every day injuries and 'influence' fu**cking that all up.
See ya later Edler/Tanev. |

Let's see how close Pettersson comes to replacing the Sedins numbers this year. - VANTEL
He replaces one of them. But with them in the lineup, we would have been a much deeper team and actually had two scoring lines. Take Edler out of this lineup and were down to one NHL dman. I'm all for trading him, but him resigning in the offseason is fine with me. |

Sounds about right. Not many dmen get 40-50 points and are young. |

The Sedins time was up. This team would still be a train wreck with them in the line up. |

We talking about UFA’s like 8 months early again?
Remember arguing about Carlson’s value/fit here and like 90% of under 30 year old good UFA dmen/centers, he re-signed?

I said better not good
i think we would have been a bubble team with them. Just my opinion, assuming EP does well and everything else. Our PP is not as good without them. They would hav been a good second line with EP IMO. But I'm happy not being a bubble team, we took the tank up a notch this year! |
