i blame the Toronto media for starting the Mattews/McDavid best player debate, ever since Crosby has been kicking asses all across the league |

for sure they are a legit contender , and we are absolutely outgunned tonight , but there is some nice signs tonight , battle level , EP's play , and they don't seem to quit and go through the motions , even with the game out of reach - onesmallleap
I thought Van sucked tonight. EP's play was great as usual. Virtanen and Boeser need to pot those chances.
(frank) do Biega, MDZ, Poilout suck. Having one of them you can get away with. Having all 3 |

Malkin is just as good, if not better than Crosby, if he was Canadian, they'd already have his plaque made for the HHOF. |

2007 - Kane
2008 - Doughty. Karlsson
2009 - Hedman/ Tavares are pretty damn close to generational. Tavares is up 150 points on Duchene.
2016 - Matthews
Maybe not a true generational talent but someone who is still heads above the rest. Mackinnon, Hall, Segiun, Laine, Eichel, Draisital. Barkov, Jones - manvanfan
I think the term generational means once in a generation. If there are generational players every year they aren’t generational. |

We are all on the tank train, some just enjoy it when the team doesn't get shut out 5-0 every night. |

better then Crosby ....pfff never , - onesmallleap
Ok...maybe I was stretching it a little bit there, however, those two have been the best centers over the past 15 years in the league.
Crosby is 6th in NHL history for PPG....Malkin is 12th. |

Yup. Just looked at the upcoming schedule. I think they go 3-6-1 over the next 10. |

I think it is official.
Pouliot is Green's favorite.
It's one thing to turn the puck over, but he turns the puck over in spectacular fashion that usually leads to a wide open goal.
I can't believe how much ice time he gets. |

This is what I was expecting when the injuries started to come to the defense.
Keep Edler and Tanev on the shelf until this tank gets up to speed. |

They've had five drafts to draft better players, if the GM would have utilized the draft more, outside of the first round, maybe we'd be starting to see more players emerge like Boeser and Petterson?
This is where my comparison's between Hextall and Benning come into play. I always say Hexy is so much greater at utilizing the draft than Benning. Because Hextall was able to grab so many more good 1-2-3 round picks the likelyhood that they'll see a few extra good players emerge is highly probable in the next two or three years. |

Exactly
Flyers last 5 years 42 picks
Canucks last 5 years 34 picks |

Eight picks is like an entire extra draft, as I said, the probabilities of grabbing a good young player is higher with more 1-2-3 round picks. Anyways, I digress, no one wants to hear my verbal diarrhea about the draft.
Hopefully in the next three years we see some kids emerge from the 2016/17/18 drafts on top of Pettersson. |

Petey scores on his chances in the first, its a different game, good first 30 minutes couldn't score, pens get a bounce off markys pad right to kessel the game changed after that, oh well on to the next one. |
