Imo he benefits from playing with Toffoli more than the other way around, he’s not the driver on that line. Like Sven with Bo.
This roster already has too many 3rd wheel types - Nucker101
But what about the duos, the duos are solid right? |

That's because you are in Canada. I've been to over a half dozen MLB games in the past 3 years LA, SEA, SF, HOU and a few others and there are thousands of fans under 30 that are die hards. Lots of them down there. - LordHumungous
Doesn’t the MLB have the oldest fanbase based on average?
I don’t think the league is going to struggle but I’m guessing it’s less popular with the youth of today than the youth of 20-30 years ago |

Still depends on the development of the prospects. If Gaudette continues to improve, I don't see Sutter staying. I doubt Van is going to get much help on the wing from prospects next season. Maybe Sutter goes to the wing and is center insurance for when the injuries pile up. - manvanfan
For a team I expect to finish near the bottom, I don't think it's out of the question to find a serviceable third or fourth line center, to add to Beagle, and take the draft pick to the bank. |

You originally used the word mandate, which is a directive given by a superior, yet you are discussing what you believe to be the vision of these 2 Gm's.
Both have done a pretty crappy overall job of running their teams. - Reubenkincade
You seem hell-bent on a continued discussion on this? The facts state Hextall utilized the draft more than Benning did, over the same timeframe, when it should have been the other way around IMO, why is this so hard for you to accept? Because that is the primary gist of my comparison of the two.
Flyers last 5 years 42 picks (average 8.4 picks)
Canucks last 5 years 34 picks (average 6.8 picks)
1st Rounders Canucks - 6, Flyers - 8
2nd Rounders....Canucks - 4 (one a gift from Torts/NHL), Flyers - 6
When I said the word mandate, I meant it as Hextall's mandate, to his management group/staff as the GM of the team. I don't believe Dave Scott gives Hextall a mandate on how to do his job. |

Baseball is still a huge cultural thing in the USA, especially in warmer climate states, minor league baseball for kids is still very very prevalent. |

I saw somewhere the NHL's average was 36 in 2016. Which isn't too bad but then it was 26 in 2004. |

Turns out that was an actual rape caught on film. Director didn't tell the actress what the scene lead to because he wanted to capture the raw emotion...also, the butter was Brando ad lib. |

Is there anything on the wing worth of note beyond Dahlen and Lind?
I'm racking my brain but guys like Palmu and Jasek are scratch tickets. Even Lockwood is miles and miles away. - Lindenis#1
Dahlen, Jasek, Lind, Lockwood are probably the only wingers with enough potential to play a regular role someday. Not top line worthy, Dahlen and Lind should have 2nd line potential.
Canucksarmy mid term reports has Lind with an expected point rate of 44,
Dahlen at 17 (only 4 matches)
Gaudette at 41
Lockwood at 34
Palmu at 38
Gadjovich 34 |

At what point do you start actually building the team and stop selling everything of value. If you say when the teams ready to compete. When's that? Prospects are pretty unpredictable. If you sell every year and don't have someone to replace them. One step forward, one step back. No wonder the Flyers are floundering. |

Weird. So if we move Sutter at TDL like many want and Beagle goes down with injury again who kills the PP's?
With Beagle out we are already seeing a lapse in defence.
Sutter is a good 3LC that will get you 15 goals and can kill PP's and Beagle is a solid 4th line guy who is a proven champion. Maybe I'm missing something but why not have them both on the same club? - LordHumungous
I’m happy to have both on the team, the team is suffering without Beagle.
I don’t agree with the we don’t need both narrative. |

It's settled then. Until Van gets a selke trophy type of center, they both stay. |

I know some here think that having both is a redundancy, but I see it the other way.
Regardless of what Benning does to improve the team there will always be guys that not agree and continually complain....like wasting a second on Sutter, smart move by Benning |

Because a solid 4th line, champion, shouldn't cost you top 6 money. Because a good 3LC shouldn't cost you 2LC money.
Because Benning likes his character and overpaid for it.
Because beagles contract makes him untradable and sutters limits his value.
If you can move Sutter, then you can call beagle for 3LC and not have such embarrassing cap management. |

I like sutter, he's a solid 3LC who can play 2LC minutes. I see beagle as being a good 4lc who can play defensive 3LC minutes. I also think by year three hossa contract is going to be hiring us almost as bad as Ericsson.
But that's just me, probably because I like to plan ahead. |
