Flyers will win 3 out of 4 on this road trip. All you who are jumping off the wagon will scramble back on in a weeks time. This is what this team is. Inconsistent as poop. Not bad enough to get top picks, not good enough to contend, good enough to keep us interested. Nothing has changed since this core has been put together. The young guys are good students, they replicate exactly what the vets are teaching them. |

When players struggle they get demoted or benched. Not on the Flyers. They keep their positions. Voracek, Patrick, Lindblom and Simmonds should all be moved down a line until they smarten up - xShoot4WarAmpsx
You left Couturier, TK okay screw it anyone not named Laughton out of that list. |

Wait, they recalled NAK? I thought someone on here had assured me that the organization though he needed to work on his game. I guess he made great strides over the weekend. - jmatchett383
Some people really have their finger on the pulse of the organization's prospects. - Feanor
Just like everyone who was behind Vorobyov who was showing flashes of nothing.
“He’s young, he should be playing!” And yet zero mention of whether or not he was playing well at this level. Vorobyov getting scratched and sending down is the only smart coaching and management moves I’ve seen this season. We’ll see how NAK does in his first couple of nhl games because he sure as heck didn’t win a job out of camp. |

I saw all I need to see from Hakstol during the playoffs last season. The team so was desperately unprepared to face the defending champs. They weren't ready and that's so embarrassing.
Get a new coaching staff. |

Coaching couldn't prepare a team who was clearly outclassed by a seasoned and hardened playoff team. That was about one team being clearly better facing a team that had young players not ready to play on that stage. Scotty Bowman couldn't have done what you blame Hakstol for not doing. |

Generally your points are well conceived and rational but I’m pretty sure Scotty Bowman has forgotten more about professional hockey than Dave Hakstol will ever know. That having been said I think Scotty wins them an extra game. |

I would agree with you. That was the entire point of using Bowman.

What is the flyers obsession with players needing a 200 ft game? How has that been working out?, let the players play to their abilities and skill.
set structure but let them be themselves.
I disagree that hak has done a great job at developing the kids. Looking at the games they are not developing at the moment... some are regressing and honestly it's hard to watch..
I truly think the players have given up on the coach. They're not playing for hak. I wonder If they feel creatively suppressed with his system?
They have completely tuned him out.
Just food for thought. Tryinf to figure out this cluster of a team is frustrating. How can an e tite team decide to stop playing and not compete? The players tuning out the coach makes sense |

While I don’t agree with everything you’ve said, you’ve touched on some interesting points. MJL brought up in camp that he felt that maybe management and the coaches were looking too hard at the players and not the chemistry within the lines. Hakstol also made a comment during camp that he’s still working on his system with the players. I have to agree that certain players serve certain roles. His job is to put them in a position to succeed and he hasn’t. He isn’t. Provorov, Patrick and Konecny are regressing. Most of that blame should be put on the players. Even a vet like Couturier. At the same time, it’s up to Hakstol to adjust his system and put these players in a position to succeed. That’s where maybe splitting up G and Coots comes in so that maybe we’re giving trans different looks and maybe taking some of the work load off of others. |

Player development is rarely linear. It's normally ups and downs.
Giroux, Voracek, and Gostisbehere all had career offensive seasons last year under Hakstol. Giroux and Voracek were in the top 5 of the league is assists I believe. |

Giroux and voracek both had monster years....Giroux had a career year. So what has happened that made it change? They should be riding last seasons success into this season and building upon it. I dont have answers just more questions. It's very frustrating to watch them flounder and flop out there |

It is frustrating but it is also proof that Hakstol's system is not suppressing the creativity of the players. How about we blame the players instead of the coach for everything? |

It is more of a chicken vs egg argument.
If a coach can't reach players then who is at fault players or coach?
I think it is more an identity that has been lost somewhere...
