I did say it was a huge win for him and their staff yesterday.

I just looked and most reputable people or organizations had him 5-8 range. I'm just glad they took him, whoever made the decision, Benning, Bracket, collectively, whatever.

I was wrong about Pettersson, I thought he was ranked 5th, his average ranking was around 8th. So very good pick. But Hughes went right around his projections despite the two reaches by Arizona and Montreal.

Ya I thought the days of Gaunce were over. It’s quite funny that people were complaing Roussel, beagle and Schaller meant we had no room for the kids. If anything Benning should have signed an additional 5 UFAs. Utica and Vancouver are decimated by injuries already lol

Luckily it worked out this time. I ultimately made the decision that Jersey would go for skill over the big ol Canadian boy. Flyers were running to the podium for Patrick lol. Heiskanen and EP are far superior prospects as is Makar. I (frank)ed up this draft though as I thought Boqvist would fall from the top 10. He did however fall all the way to 8 so I wasn’t too far off
