Is that what happened in 14-15, players like Mason and Streit and Giroux and Voracek with his 81 points "quit" on Berube?
Hextall didn't think so. - Feanor
That whole quote about the players being happy or unhappy points somewhat to them being unhappy which unhappy players don't produce for a coach like happy ones. |

All of what he is saying there about Berube he should be saying about Hak too |

Dude, in the early 2000’s we had the same core of Roenick, LeClair, Recchi, Primeau, Desjardins and Gagne under Bill Barber. Fired his ass. Brought in Ken Hitchcock abs there was an instant change. Hitch’s system was a boring defense first mindset but Hitch found a balance that clearly made us better. - SuperSchennBros
Yes, there was an immediate and noticeable difference between the team that got humiliated by Ottawa in the 2002 playoffs, and the 2002-3 and 2003-4 Flyer teams under Hitchcock. |
|
|
|
Because the core bought into his style and played it. This core has been with three coaches and none of their system worked. Maybe the parts are not fitting together to make a complete puzzle.
But no let's just say because firing the coach made a difference that time it will 100% be the answer this time.
Which coach are you bringing in? There aren't many choices available right now.
Hitch and Sutter have pretty much told teams they are 100% done coaching.
Tippet is with Seattle's bid.
Vigneault? Bylsma? - dragonoffrost

Struggles:
G - 3 Goals
Coots - 4 Goals
Voracek -3 Goals
And all - players which means they are being scored on more than they score.
Not Struggling:
Simmonds - 6 Goals (yes he's a minus player too which he needs to clean up)
Laughton - 4 goals in mainly a 3rd/4th line role. - dragonoffrost
G and Jake are first pass guys. You can not omit the assists, however I know why you did, it doesn't fit your narrative.
I notice you didn't show me the points of: TK, NoPa, Vorobyev, Linblom.
A point a game from your stars isn't good enough. But barely getting points from your top line winger(TK) and 2 of the 3 guys(Lindblom and NoPa) on the second line is excused.
I am not ripping the kids, although I know it looks like it, I am simply saying that the kids have been given HUGE rolls on this team but aren't producing at the clip required to help this team be successful.
It is still early and I love the kids on this team! When they start playing up to their potential watch how this team starts winning. |

And you miss my fact that they are all MINUS players which means I don't give a rats ass about assists when more goals are hitting our net while they are out there. We all have a view point and my view is if this team starts focusing on their own freaking end of the ice more than they are about the flashy oh look at me making this pass and that pass they will be a better team and win. Someone mentioned Coots and Provy being a drain. Sure they are but defensive hockey is a 6 man job and with the number you are seeing from this team it's not one or two who are the issue it's all of them. Hak can lead them to the way to fix it but he can't force them to do it.
Also those assists are on the PP which is also a bad thing if you live and die by the PP you are asking to lose games. |

Simmonds is the big minus guy when it comes to Hextall's Flyers.

The only real critical hole is 3C, Weal isn’t going to cut it and Laughton isn’t the playmaker you need to slot between JVR and Simmonds. - BiggE
It's a definite hole right now, but it we can't get a single viable 3C out of Vorobyev, Rubtsov and Frost starting in 19-20 then something's gone terribly wrong. |

Yes, and from there on out they got deeper and deeper in the playoffs. Are we getting deeper and deeper in the playoffs right now?
How long are you gonna play both sides? You’re going to argue with me, you’re going to argue with him. |

The goals scored against aren't only against the first line and when Jake is out there.
I am getting lost in your argument.
So goals aren't scored against the 2nd 3rd and forth lines?
Also, do the defensemen have any responsibility in the goals against?

Dude the whole team is minus. Now you are just rambling. Take a smoke break. Depth is this teams issue along with Provy playing up to par. Face the facts or keep telling us Giroux is struggling and drink your Kool-aid (P.S. no one else is drinking it) |

Agreed, one needs to step up and be our 3C next season and another needs to be centering the 4th line. |

This is depth?
Patrick is a second year play who has been OK.
Weal is your 3rd line center, you could argue he is a boardline NHL player.
Linblom is another 2nd year player who has been OK.
That is the other thing that drives me nuts about this fan base and BSH, all this clamoring for playing the kids. The kids are playing and are all over the line-up!
And we are seeing the results of playing the kids, struggles. Lots of them. - ggunky
I mean, the player who has struggled the most this season is the veteran Andrew MacDonald. |

Same. So what’s the problem?
Yes, the group you mentioned with Hitch was embarrassed by Ottawa Hitch’s first playoffs. Same group, second round exit the following year. Third season, third round exit. I’m not seeing the same improvement right now under this coach. The Flyers have the guns, it’s up to the coach to put it together. |

02-03 was Hitch’s first year, they lost in the 2nd round, the following in the conference final. The only year a Flyers team under Hitch lost in the first round was in his last full year with the team, 05-06
Both teams that got embarrassed in one sided first round losses in 2001 and 2002 were coached by Barber |
