This whole thing with stapling Vorobyev to the bench and giving NAK the same number of minutes on the ice that someone gets at the WFC during stoppages in play......is this the NHL version of #PettySZN between Hakstol and Hextall?

Those yokes recently creamed the lightning 7-1 and have been playing much better. They are also one of the very best defensive teams in the league - Just5
To be fair, I always assume the Yokes are doing terrible. I never actually look up what they’re doing... |

With Nashville it would presumably be a high pick. I doubt they move Toivanen. Who knows maybe they give up on Fiala (doubtful even though he was recently scratched). Those are really the only pieces I would hope for. I haven't seen much of Fabbro recently, but last impression was underwhelming. |

So the GM brings up 2 players and the coach proceeds to scratch one and play the other 5:45 or whatever. On the surface there seems to be a disconnect there. - mayorofangrytown
I think Ghoul only came up cause Knight got hurt.

I don't need to rush them in but against a bigger team like Anaheim the Goulbourne scratch seemed a little odd. There's no lack of beef on this road trip so yesterday, tomorrow, he'll get a game.
I wouldn't have expected him to scratch Aube-Kubel in the kids first call up/game. You kinda have to give the kid that if he's earned a recall. |

Against a team with big injury issues, that was not much of a test as we just got by with a win. Play that way vs SJ they will get burned. - Buzzo

“[NAK] did a good job,” the head coach noted. “He did exactly want we wanted him to when he was out there. He played in straight lines, he won battles. It’s little things when you come in. I thought he won the majority of his battles on the wall, and took care of pucks, and didn’t try to make plays that weren’t there, so it was a positive night for him.”

Here are the details on that. Knight got hurt, so he needed to be replaced. They call up Aube-Kubel. Flyers are going on a road trip, need to carry an extra forward so they call up Goulborne. I don't see a disconnect.

Agreed
Goulbourne is a 5th year pro, he’s not some kid/top prospect who needs to be playing every night. |

While I agree on Goulbourne, I feel like NAK played well enough to warrant more than 5:45 of ice time. |

Doubt you'll find anyone on here who thinks that. Given the opponent and the fact he was just recalled I found it a bit odd but if the coach didn't want to dress both of them in the first game after the recall not that big of a deal.
Finding it a bit odd isn't setting what's left of my hair on fire and running around flailing my arms. If the GM is recalling players I'd think in most cases it's to get them in the lineup. |

For sure he needs more ice because having a guy up for 6 minutes is pointless. that being said he didn't do much out there, more good shifts than bad, probably just one bad shift when he vacated his Dman and Anaheim went D to D, his man was wide open but fortunately whoever it was fumbled the puck and he recovered. |

Can you convince JvR’s knee to heal. Hart to become Brodeur and Hakstol to be fired within the next year?

I said it before, and I’ll say it again.
I almost want this team to win enough where we stay in the playoff race but loose enough to get Dave Hakstol fired. I think we’ve shown what we are under his leadership, which is not very good. I think we could be a lot better under someone else’s guidance. I think if we go 4-1 against the Ducks, Kings, Sharks (Easy lost no matter who you are) and the Yokes twice, These are fake victories. Just enough to keep Dave Hakstol behind the bench for way too long.
I’m really worried that Ron Hextall doesn’t have the heart to make the right decision in this case. |
